Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Part of the problem is the focus on projections in the newer shows.

Main Street/the hub will always be the preferred location for MK fireworks viewing because of the castle, but without the focus on projections you could watch from other locations in the park without really missing anything. Now, you're missing a significant part of the show if you can't see the projections, so very few guests are going to be content to watch it from anywhere else.

But you can easily expand the turf gardens and a good amount of capacity. I also think it's time for them to redo the Tomorrowland Terrace so it has two floors, one for VIPs and one for dessert party viewing.

I hope whatever they do with "Beyond Big Thunder" it factors in for viewing of the Night Time shows

Build Malificent's Castle there and do the projections on that as well or something .... But especially if this one increases the capacity of the park you gotta have other places for folks to get a full experience for the shows - Main St/the Hub is just not sustainable

Want to book Disney Resort for a 4 night stay Christmas Week? Every hotel (non-DVC) has availability. AP Discount? You can have your pick of everything except All Star Movies.

But who wouldn't want the Grand Floridan at $1100/ night for a garden view room?
I was gonna say this earlier…

But I can’t ALWAYS be the harbinger/heavy lifter of truth around here.

No room in Orlando is worth $800 a night…people always falsely assume they sell

All that’s bluster until further notice

…And I wouldn’t hold it if I were you 🤭

Then they need to find a better way. Show them twice a night on busy days. Anything but paving over more charm.

Honestly, there's no excuse for not doubling up at least during party season when they are only shown 2-3 nights a week.

I think that is very fair - forcing everyone who wants to see the regular/included fireworks onto just 2 or 3 days of the week, then show them twice

Or heck, I December you could probably do them at like 5:30 or something in party nights - could sell getting to see two fireworks shows as more value to the party ticket

15 minutes of showtime, an hour or so of chaos during parade times, and the two hours or so of chaos in Main Street prior/post show... yes.

If they can find a way to make MK more navigable, I'm all for it.

I know you think there is value in this but... it's a really bad idea.

Want to know what a better idea is? Spread the crowds out. Stop the insipid castle projections and allow people to see a fireworks show from multiple locations and not miss anything. I think... I think... Disney could do that.

Lets see what the holiday numbers spell out in the next quarterly earnings call , yes Bob thanks all for their monies. Your assumption I was talking about the summer was wrong.
So two of the busiest weeks of the year that have been two of the busiest weeks of the year for 20-ish years (the week before Christmas wasn't really mobbed until after 2000, if memory serves) means things are great again?

I agree with this to a certain extent but at some point all the removal of landscaping at the Disney “parks” will make them stop feeing like parks.

They’ve done a pretty good job so far of maintaining the park feel while paving more and more of the land but at some point they have to stop.

I think offering a second show would probably have a bigger impact anyway, an earlier show would also help families with (overtired and grumpy) younger kids leave earlier rather than staying late for the shows.

Shows at AK and HS would really help too, we’ve left both early before to go to MK to see the fireworks, if they had stuff to do at night that would probably prevent park hopping.

People want to see the fireworks from in front of the castle. Get rid of projections, and people will still want to see the fireworks from Main Street/Hub.

The guests want the "postcard perfect" image/experience of seeing it from the hub.

That’s a kinda pathetic standard to suit the man-children…
I'm all for park areas/aesthetics, I've been clamoring for the Main Street bypass to be open all the time as a nice park/resting area, but the hub is just a nightmare to navigate.

See? You can keep up…

Two consecutive quarters of significant drop in attendance WITHOUT an Economic event to cause it - first time ever - has been wiped away by dvc cramming Orlando in December

Most people want to see them from Main Street but DL has shown that when given an option a ton of people will opt for less crowded viewing areas.

Both the Fantasmic area and IASW area are often full for fireworks, it’s not as good as Main Street but with the projections on IASW and on the fountains it’s pretty close.

They certainly used to be able to do that. I never crowded my family into one spot to watch fireworks unless we were already nearby. It was just too unpleasant for the reward of seeing explosions in the sky.

We did, however, see them very well while leaving the park, while queuing for one last ride of something, while at the Polynesian beach, while waiting for a monorail, etc. All were more pleasant experiences than being crammed in to one small piece of acreage to see them.
