Most important question- did you get the Lasagna al Forno?
It actually is one of the best breakfast places on property.

Net earnings are up in the $150 a day resorts, so the doom and gloom is for naught. Remember, if less people but more net earnings is higher than more people and less net earnings, then the higher prices and less guests is the way to go.
The profits are in shops…as much as 90%

This is the same stupid argument the “luxury seekers” have been pushing for 10 years…
And get it’s not working and will never work

Incase you haven’t noticed: attendance is heading down and they are freaking out

Actually admitting mistakes out loud.

A lot of Disney park fans seem to have no idea why they work/have been so successful

“It’s the middle class, stupid”

Interesting survey questions…are they learning or doubling down?

View attachment 719385View attachment 719386
See, to me, this is exactly how any survey can be steered to the outcome they want…the second question is fine, the first question is too open to interpretation.

Did you spend more, as expected or less is the question
Then the answer,
More than I expected, what I expected or less than I expected… they can turn around and say even though the guest paid more than they expected, they still spent more voluntarily, therefore that’s a positive survey in Disney’s favor.
Did the guest spend more for the burger, fries and soda OR did the guest enjoy the meal so much, that someone in the party decided to eat it too, buying 2 meals instead of 1. Did the guest spend MORE for the meal (bad Disney outcome), or MORE than the guest planned because they bought more (good Disney outcome)…that’s why I take ALL surveys with a grain of Tiana’s salt…because the outcome can be steered towards the desired outcome. Disney can say on their earnings call, yes the economy is bad, but guests are spending MORE money in the parks…the question is, are they buying more quantity or more per item.

Coming into this thread without reading through it, I do have an interesting observation. Yesterday (Sunday if anyone is reading this in the future) I was scrolling on my phone and I saw an article noting how low WDW crowds were for Memorial Day weekend. I checked the app and I was quite surprised to see how low wait times were in Magic Kingdom in the middle of the day. I checked Universal Orlando and was seeing much higher wait times in comparison.

Just an observation, but interesting food for thought.

I'm arriving onsite this evening and meet my inbound group of 50 tomorrow afternoon... it was great telling these kids - most of whom have never left their state and many who never will - how much they'll be able to experience in the parks this week.

As a travel agency owner, bookings are down and that isn't great. As a human, it's awesome to see our clients get to experience the parks as they were back in the good ol' days.

Went to Universal and Disney this Memorial Day weekend. Definitely much more crowded at Universal, but still fairly busy at Disney. I actually prefer this crowd level in Disney as it’s not wall to wall people today as opposed to Universal where the Harry Potter areas were difficult to navigate.

No
Demand is softening for WDW. The peak couldn’t last forever. There’s also been a general shift away from summer visits, while better weather seasons have increased in attendance.

US Disney Parks used to do 24 hour MK/DL park hours for Memorial Day. Why? To attract visitors. I don’t think soft Memorial weekend demand is a new problem. Same thing with Labor Day weekend. Dips on these weekends have been typical. Alot of people do traditional gatherings like backyard BBQs, going to the beach or lake, etc.

But I dont think the parks are going to empty like Fall 2019 and stay that way. As demand eases they’ll just improve offers. What would respark interest in people who’ve avoided visiting over prices and crowds - lower crowds and great deals. The family that balked at $8k trip with 7+ crowd levels will get excited again over a $10k trip discounted to $6.5k and under 7 crowd levels.

Went to Epcot yesterday out of the blue. I’m a local and an annual Passholder. Didn’t want to wait until 2pm so went ahead a got a reservation. Surprised to see that it was a bonus reservation. Attendance was moderate and comfortable. No one running me into others due to the phone watching or looking backwards while walking. Short kiosk lines and got into the Hacienda without reservation (I don’t know if that is normal though). I like this crowd level. Reminds me of the days before the numerous hotels on property.

I think MK only did 6am-6am park hours one time only several years ago. Back in the day during 12/25-31, MK was open 7am-1am then evening extra magic hours 1am-4am and the park reopened at 7am, a few days during that time week.

After 4 days…my opinion is the ride wait times don’t accurately reflect the little amount of traffic in the parks. Across the board
