We get there in a couple weeks and I'm very curious to see if the trend continues. I've been expecting normal (well, new-normal) Summer crowds. Should be interesting!

1. Daycare Viruses
2. Desantis
3. Disney political Stances
4. Recession
5. High prices
6. Confusing vacation planning
7. Low DVC sales
8. Annual Pass price to high
9. Won’t visit Florida
10. People don’t care about Tron
11. Genie+ is a rip off
12. No magical express
13. Summer Halloween parties
14. Nothing new worth seeing or coming soon
15. Waiting to visit Universal’s Epic Universe
16. Low birth rates

Anyone care to add to the list?
Gotta dispute #8 for my circumstances. I have the weekday pass and with the parks in a bit of an attendance slump, it’s been a great value for me

Just so you know I’m compiling a list of reasons that I’ve been given. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are correct or that I agree with them.

I just think it would be interesting to see all the reasons people may not be going in one spot.

I’ve got another addition. I have princess aged girls and if given a choice all they want to watch is weird YouTube Mario stuff. We went to the Mario movie and play Mario kart a lot with my stepdaughter, but we think the obsession comes from daycare. It seems to be the thing with the toddler pre k set.
Took DD5 to Mermaid last night, and it was still all about Mario this morning so I don’t think Disney has anything to match right now. But who knows maybe a week at preschool will initiate a change if other kids saw Mermaid. It was a tad too long for DD5 she snoozed through the last 20 mins

We’ve been firmly in the camp of Universal is not for the littles. But I’m also a sucker of taking in whatever magic lights your kids when it does. We once went to DC just for pandas when my stepdaughter was 9. So if Epic Universe were aligned to this current obsession we might be rearranging vaca plans. I’m pretty happy it’ll just miss it if we’re lucky. I’m hoping to hold out for Universal until my girls are ready to be wizards.

IMO that's a bigger issue for Disney more so than pricing. When I was growing up Disney IP was everywhere and you grew up on it. Now with more options for kids to watch they don't have that same attachment. A good example is my child loves Peppa Pig and would rather go to Peppa Pig land than any Disney park.

These statistics do not support a decline in kids. It shows a decline in the number of children per household, but the increase in households provides for population growth across the board and in the number of children as well.
see https://www.childstats.gov/americaschildren/tables/pop1.asp

US birth rates started going down around 14 years ago and have continued that trajectory so not as many kids in the population to take to Disney:

This is going to have an impact on colleges starting around 2029

I agree with that. It's why IMO they should stick to what they are good at. That is family oriented rides that are well themed. Stay away from the thrills cause IMO they don't do them well. Stick to the multi generational family who travels together.
But the line times will tell you that most do not agree with that statement

Correct. And it appeared that way today.

Maybe $150 a day wasn’t as bright of a move for parks as they thought it was?
Net earnings are up in the $150 a day resorts, so the doom and gloom is for naught. Remember, if less people but more net earnings is higher than more people and less net earnings, then the higher prices and less guests is the way to go.

Interesting survey questions…are they learning or doubling down?
