Well from what I understand we don't have to switch to the new data plan if we don't want to. The cheaper "new" data plan allows for 200mb of usage and I go over that somehow so I should probably stay where I am..:lol:

Yes..only new users have to choose one of the plans and not the unlimited..if you have it already then you can continue to use that..and that is what I use..:shrug:

Question..I never have a problem with ATT service or anything with my phone but I see that many people complain...do most of the ATT users here have problems?..Missed/dropped calls?..No signal and such?

Actually on Sunday I couldn't access any apps or Safari...but I could through WiFi...I thought it was just me but I asked my friend who also has an iphone if he was having the same problem and he was..It finally started working after at least 6 hours...Not sure what was going on...:shrug: Other than that it works really well for me...much better than T-Mobile..:rolleyes:

Here's how I put it. I want the iPhone to death, like it's the Hershey Bar of Chocolate and the Coca-Cola of soda, but I'm on Verizon. =( and will still be because my step mom works there and my real mom won't budge. So now I wait for the iPod event where they could announce Verizon iPhone and updates for the iPad, who knows? Don't argue with me either because, no, you don't know. Unless your Steve Jobs or a close coworker.

People are constantly complaining about AT&T but I have never had a problem. Sure I've had dropped calls once in awhile, but I had the same thing on T-Mobile. Doesn't bother me. I just hang up and call back.

I had the same problem on Sunday, but just assumed it was because I was out at the Philadelphia bike race and the towers were overloaded. Wonder if something was up or it was just a coincidence.

I'll probably get the next Iphone in a year or two. The new phone does seem pretty impressive. But I don't have an extra $200 to throw around. :(

2gig is plenty for me each month...and for $5 less.

Yeah unless you are going to tether the device to a laptop to use as a primary internet connection you are going to be hard pushed to use more than 2gb a month. Unlimited doesn't exist when it comes to data. Either a fair use policy or a cap will eventually kick in and remove any excessive users. I don't really see a problem in what they have done, its the same in the uk now as well. What it will do is give the 99% who use the device normally better performance. The 1% who are killing performance for the rest of the users can either comply or leave. Sounds good to me.

You CAN pre-order in the stores. I did so about noon today.:D

However, by that time, the quantity of pre-orders had been so great (one site estimates 1-1.5 million)that both AT&T and Apple's order systems were running very slow/crashing. Even preordering today I was told that it would be potentially backordered and arrive after the 24th.
Anyway...I won't have to deal with going to the store on the 24th. I'll just wait patiently on mine to drop on my doorstep.

Hmm..that's weird. I went to my Apple store at 10 this morning. The person there directed myself and another customer to a computer and said the store was not manually processing the preorders and it must be done online. After trying with her to process it online, still no luck. No problem though. I ended up going to AT&T and ordering it there...10 minutes later, I was all done. It will be arriving on my doorstep around the 24th as well! :sohappy:
