Well, Canadians for some reason won't be getting the new iPhone 4 until a few weeks later. Annoying, but with Robbers [er... Rogers :lookaroun] as my provider, nothing surprises me any more.

I'll probably upgrade. :shrug: If only for the wifi 'n' and 7.2MBps connectivity [which ironically is already available here, Rogers has been offering 7.2 for alnost a year now].

Sprint HTC EVO is out now and already has most of this stuff too. :shrug: Just a thought. Plus it can act as a wifi "hotspot," giving faster connection to up to 8 nearby internet devices. But you'd be missing out on the iTunes and iBook aspects.

When is At&T rolling out 4G and how widespread will it be?

I currently have the 3GS and dont forsee myself purchasing the new iPhone 4G. It is just not that great of an upgrade. The Sprint HTC EVO as mentioned features actualy blow it away. I am going to wait for Apples response to the EVO next year.

What do you conside the EVO has that blows away the iPhone 4?

The major improvements that I am excited for on the iPhone are included in OS 4.0 update. If I had an iPhone 3G(600mhz), I would go for the new iphone just to get the 1ghz processor. But since my 3GS is already 800mhz, not a huge jump for me.
It's not a bad phone, I just had higher expectations for it.

Sigh.

4G sucks battery life, and even when it's off the phone has shown not to last the whole day. Some reviews have said the EVO is *too* big.

The hotspot idea is cool and useful, but it drains battery, so you'd need it to be plugged in to use effectively. If that's the case, why not just plug it into your laptop?

The iPhone has improved battery life, smaller sized, and a *better* camera.

I feel like a little kid counting down to Christmas!
Last year I bought the simple 8G 3G on a whim. Suddenly one day I just bought it on an impulse, not really thinking I'd use it for much more than an ipod and phone and maybe a few games. After a few days, I wondered how I ever lived without it. After 6 months of owning it, I dropped in a toilet and was without it for 3 days. I was like an addict going through detox without it, literally not knowing what to do with myself :lol: I can't wait to get my hands on it!

General opinion from people with hands on both seems to be the screen and camera on the iPhone 4 blow away the EVO. Then it's down to which operating system you like.

I think I might just purchase this one. My father has had the 3GS since last year but he only uses it for it's telehone abilities and browser. He isn't registered to purchase applications either.

I'm not a huge fan of Apple, unless they can meet my needs which they do now. ;)
The new shape is a bit better for me but I don't like the fact that there is no standard keyboard such as on the Droid. After a few minutes of poking and sliding the screen around, the tips of my fngers become irritated.
