From the looks of that satellite image, this is where I'm seeing available land for a good-sized ride in IOA....

- Between Dudley, Thunder Falls Terrace, and JPRA
- Behind One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
- Between The Flying Unicorn and Pizza Predatoria (original location for Van Helsing)
- Triceratops Discovery Trail
- Behind Doom/Spidey/Storm Force

Take a look at that space between MIB and BTTF in USF though....it looks as if they can fit three or four MIB-sized buildings on that land.

The land in Marvel is mainly taken up by the warehouse build for HHN. More than likely nothing with be built there.
I'm aware of that, but don't you think they'd sacrifice it if they had to? There's a nice amount of room right there (they could always take out Storm Force to have that area serve as an entrance as well).

They could, but now it is also used for Hurricane storage, now of course they could always find another place for this kind of stuff, but would they be willing to spend more money, I mean, they arent even willing to spend money on a new ride! But I think for the most part, anything HHN related would go if a permanent attraction could be built there instead.

You know those parking lots are used and usually full by staff of Universal Studios and Islands of adventure and the Production staff and stars and guests for production...

Taking some away might cause a problem.. heck I wondered behind the aprks and saw an olde parking lot tram back there for their parking lot.. and ther were cars all over...

No, not the soundstage/painter parking lots... the one right behind Graveyard Revue before Earthquake... that tram is used sometimes (but rarely) to carry team members from wardrobe to IOA... or more recently it was used to carry the Mardi Gras performers to Fear Factor from the soundstages... I was talking about this place...

Well they used it for Halloween Horror Night's houses for the past 11 years or so... There's always storage there and maybe a car or two... For the longest time, all the signs from HHN 14 were just sitting in there on carts... if they take out Earthquake, they can do without those 20 parking spots...

Haunted houses are temporary.. (hence why soundstages get rented out for them..)

If they wanted to build a ride they would need to figure out what first and see if it fits... besides they just spent money fixing up the ride... somewhat...

I haven;t read the whole thread so I don't know if this has been said (ha), but the largest amount of land is near BTTF and MIB. There is enough room there for about 2-3 MIBs or 8 BTTFs. Any large attraction could easily be built there.

That would be amazing.... :D

I would really love to see it as an actual ride, but I think something like Twister could work as well.

Something like Twister for War of the Worlds?

I see how it could work but I'd want to see something much more thrilling than Twister...I've got a bit bored of Twister now.. if you could somehow walk through scenes of destruction with new things happening on a twister scale... say 5 or 6 of them that'd be awesome, isn't there a scene from it where (Tom Cruise) is driving away from the destructon and explosions and stuff behind him... that would rock.

Maybe a Fast and the Furious attraction (although not a classic movie but was say the Mummy or Twister?)

I'd love to see an older movie that people love and know well to be transformed, what have Universal got in their back catalogue that could be turned into a great attraction?

Isn't WOTW a Paramount Film, cause I was thinking the same thing. Even though, I am sure Universal can secure license right to an attraction. Better yet the movie may be a owned by DreamWorks and just released through Paramount.

I think that would be a great idea. It's a hot franchise and could work well as a thrill ride.

The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum would make for a good attraction as well, IMO.

Ever see the Italian Job Stunt Track at King's Island?? Here's a video of it, looks like it would be fun!

That'd be a good Fast N Furious coaster...

Also, the ride that was going in either Kong's building or between MIB and BTTF was originally going to be based on Apollo 13 and is sorta the starting grounds for the Mummy attraction... anyways, here's a link to the patent on the attraction that never was... the whole story behind it is that the guy that designed the ride left Universal and so the ride was never built and Mummy was instead...

Too bad a ride like that might be a bit low capacity.....

The ideas are endless for rides.. (WOTW is Paramount...)

But wait.. if the guy who designed the ride under universal's time... and it is universal's patent.. why did they never built that.. (perhaps mummy was based on the technology?)

From Screamscape:

2007 - New Attraction - Rumor - (7/20/05) It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything newsworthy about this side of the park, but the latest buzz from the natives of the Jurassic Park jungle is that a new attraction could be announced for the area by the end of the year. There was also an unconfirmed claim about seeing another skyline height check balloon flying over the JP area of the park a few weeks ago. Again, the old standby rumors that have been flying around for years have come back again... such as the old Jeep Tour and even the Helicoptours simulator ride that would have used the same ride system as Disney’s Soarin. But those are concepts from years ago and somehow I think they may try something new this time around if these rumors are true. Stay tuned!
