a big part of the disappointment I have is that ROL has been Disneyfied with the Jungle Book inclusion.
Heck, Jungle Book was an opening day show at Animal Kingdom.Agreed. But at least Jungle Book makes more sense in Animal Kingdom than floating rocks.
I wonder if the lotus fountain barges will be used in the Jungle Book show?
Right. They only have a month to put this together, so there is no way it can reach the levels of Rivers of Light. My guess will be the floats will either not be used or will be fixed in place.I get a sense that the problem with the show currently is that all the barges, including the lotuses, are to move around each other in complex choreography, thus the visual interest and the cool part of the show. If they can't move by themselves without bumping into each other I have no clue how they'll get them onstage for the Jungle Book show. Maybe the four lotuses are safe enough on their own...? Or maybe someone can remote-control them.

Don't forget Disneyland's Light Magic. It was more than just barges that got discarded and never used again. This could be very short-sided of them to do an interim show as it could go either way. When Rivers of Light actually premieres and they advertise their new nighttime show many guests could say I already saw that and I don't need to see it again....or they could say I like The Jungle Book show better!Good on them for putting something together in light of the disappointment of not being ready.
I have to laugh at the suggestion this means RoL is cancelled permanently. Because yes, they are just going to throw away all those barges, fountains and autonomous vehicles.
On the other hand, it certainly means there is no pressure to have RoL ready for anytime soon.
Granted, we haven't seen what this interim show will be. However, a big part of the disappointment I have is that ROL has been Disneyfied with the Jungle Book inclusion. I would have greatly preferred for them to go ahead with the other new attractions/entertainment and give us the full ROL when ready and without a Disney tie-in as was originally planned... THAT was something refreshing to look forward to.
probably notThey do realize that Civil War starts early May, right? People will be like, Jungle what? Oh yeah...that thing.
Where does this fall date keep coming from? ROL based off every conversation I have had with anyone close to the project is aiming for July.Well at least its something, I'm withholding judgement until I see the final product. Still, I'm bummed my parents won't get to see Rivers of Light this August.
