Hi all!

Just found this auction on eBay. The description says it's from El Rio del Tiempo, but I'm just not convinced.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Walt-Disney-Wor...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:15|39:1|240:1318

The main auction picture shows the puppets on a horse:

I just don't remember this if it's from El Rio. To me, the faces just look too detailed... Does it look familiar to anyone else? Do you know perhaps what part of the ride it's from?

Thanks and have a Disney day!

I am thinking that is from the last scene. If I remember correctly there was a carousel in that last scene where all the fireworks are going off. Is that scene still there. I have only been on the Gran Fiesta once and I am fuzzy as far as what has been replaced. I will have to go and look at Martin's Mexico tribute to get a closer look.

As "classic" as the arrtaction was, I can't see these being in really high demand for even the obsessed Disney collector.

But a cool find, if they are authentic!

I thought that initially too, but after watching the finale of El Rio on youtube I doubt it. The faces of the marionettes in the finale don't look as detailed as the auction puppets. They definitely didn't have a donkey on the carousel!

Check out Martin's tribute and let me know what you think.

I just looked through his video and I agree. I forgot that the carousel was full of marionettes instead of horses with people. I do not see where else they could have been since the rest of the puppets were "Small World" type puppets. Those would look out of place with those figures.

To me the puppets look more Spanish than Mexican from the costumes. Since I don't remember anything like this in the pavillion itself, I'm thisclose to calling shenanigans...

Yep. I think it may be time to call the ECSP. (Epcot Center Shenanigans Police) Perhaps we should wait for confirmation from Martin.
