EPCOT Inside Out to Replace Journey into Imagination with Figment?

One, or possibly both, of these revelations is incorrect. However, if I were to "make a wish" I'd go with wanting it to be Inside Out. From the moment I saw the movie my first thought was... Wow, this would make a good, colorful and interesting dark ride. They have already shown how badly they were able to screw up the original, with or without, Figment. I'd hate to think that they would be given the go ahead to screw it up even more. They don't seem to grasp the idea of imagination like the original imagineers and have put the hatchet to absolutely everything that made it what it was, so lets not go any further. Keep the building because it is awesome in design just fill it and make it something that utilizes the entire thing. A place that makes the amount of money that WDW does has no excuse to be that damn lazy.
Inside Out had an even more shallow grasp on the concept of Imagination then what's in there now. A "The Floor is Lava machine"? A "Shapes in the Clouds" town? A "Husbando Generator"? A pink hobo clown Snuffleupagus that has to commit suicide to be of any value? Terrible thing to put in Imagination.

I agree, figment and dreamfinder should Definately be reintroduced with new tech. Now, Disney really missed an opportunity to put inside out into the former cranium command space. Hopefully the new play pavilion keeps the cranium command theatre intact in some way for a new attraction, because now would be the time to do it, but I’m not sure if Disney is already using the space for an expansion of the pavilion or something else.

The Body Wars and CC areas are not going to be used as of right now. The "attractions" are going to be centered around the middle and outer edges of the dome (according to the one who lacks sleeves on his shirt). Apparently part of the Body Wars extended queue may be used but that's it.

I guessing that it will no longer be the "Imagination" pavilion. No one that works for Disney anymore has an imagination. If they did that building wouldn't be so pathetically empty all these years. It can be the "Emotions" Pavilion. We all have emotions, but non-paranoid imagination is hard to find.

Now this is what the new imagination attraction should be like with the return of figment and dreamfinder!

Or leave Meow Wolf alone with the Imagination Pavilion and see what sort of environment they could put Figment and Dreamfinder in. I mean, this is what they were able to do with an old Ghost Blasters installation in a regional park. Just think what they could do with some Disney backing.

Yeah, the Meow Wolf in Santa Fe is pretty wild, too. I'd love to see their creativity but with a Disney budget. (No "cardboard cutouts.")

Yeah, it’s definately pretty out there, in a very good way too! It’s just so colorful and creative, a true non Disney or universal theme park masterpiece in my opinion, and I agree, they can totally put dreamfinder and figment in a crazy, imaginative, and insanely colorful environment for imagination v4, if they decide to include dreamfinder along with figment again for v4!!!

@marni1971 to get a bit of a timeline here, would you happen to know how far back the first proposal for imagination v4 was that you heard of, and was there a specific year when the proposals started, up until recently? It’s fine if you’re not sure, I just want to get a bit of a perspective here.

It's kind of astounding that Spaceship Earth will have received 2 different overhauls before Imagination receives the one it has needed desperately for 20 years.

The Irons version of Spaceship Earth could still be playing well to a contemporary audience with only relatively minor update work. The current version of Imagination shouldn't have even lived to see the new millennium.

While what we ended up with is rough relative to v1, it's probably the best we were going to get at the time when they already paid Eric Idle to be the face of it and completely changed the physical layout. I don't trust that any time in the past 10 years an overhaul would bring back Figment and Dreamfinder for a worthy ride. So IMO it's better to have this weird thing introduce kids to goofy Figment and remind adults of once was. At least now there is a chance they will "get it right" after deciding to reinvest more heavily in attractions

Of course, SSE had 2 different sponsors during that time period who dropped money into updating the attraction.

Imagination had only one that was going bankrupt.

That is a GORGEOUS ride, even though it doesn't make much sense. Still love it though. Also, I think the video skips a bit - in the beginning of the ride, guests go to a staircase where a stuffy Herald is standing, and the court-jester character splits the staircase in two, allowing the guests to enter into the actual ride. It's an amazing effect. Walt would take one look at this ride and say, "This is great - but WE could plus it!" And then he'd do just that. Ah, for the days when the Walt Disney Company was actually the Walt Disney Company...

I know this sounds kind of random, but I think the new imagination attraction should involve clouds in every scene by the sides of your vehicle, while you go through each different scene, to create a dreamy setting, and Disney can make it a trackless enhanced motion vehicle, that will allow you to feel like you are floating in the sky, maybe with dreamfinder and figment alongside the dreamcatcher. Oh, and just a reminder, if you haven’t already, I strongly recommend you guys check out the site that @DoleWhipDrea created, all about resorting imagination back to its former glory!! If you are interested, I highly recommend sending letters to the Walt Disney company! Here is the link https://dreamfinderandfigmentrestorationsociety.wordpress.com/

^ well they did originally have that but the effect caused some damage. Now, in days like where even buzz light year's fog has been removed, sadly I don't see Disney paying to keep effects in rides running (Color me shocked that the fog in some parts of spaceship earth.. still works)
