Indiana Jones Adventure refurbishment

I know this won't happen but my dream is, that not only do they fix all the broken effects, but that they use this refurb to fix my biggest problem with this ride which is the lack of Indiana Jones. I'm sure that thanks to the new movie they have a digital 'Classic Indy' face and voice that I would love to see added to this ride, put Indy proper in the pre show videos, have Harrison Ford's de-aged voice rerecord all his lines on the ride, re-sculpt the animatronics with a better likeness. This would have such a huge positive impact on a ride I love.

They have been known to cut back on maintenance and repairs before they retheme a ride

Name one example besides Splash Mountain, which has been in bad shape for a decade, long before the retheme was planned. This theory that Indiana Jones is going to be completely rethemed to Indy 5 in a manner of half a year makes no sense.

It was a joke. I don’t expect a retheme for Indy, and I was teasing those who do with a line we hear all the time about Splash Mountain.

But since you asked, here are several examples of Disney cutting back on attraction maintenance before a retheme that come to mind:
  • Submarine Voyage
  • Adventure Thru Inner Space
  • America Sings
  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Maelstrom
  • Test Track
  • Ellen’s Universe of Energy
Also, many (most?) of these initially closed for a short refurbishment, only to lay dormant for a long while. I don’t expect this to happen w/Indy either, but it’s pretty common for them to turn a short/temporary closure into a long or even permanent one.

Test track was sponsored and continues to this day. I don’t remember any changes in maintenance it was just very dated by 2011
