A minor quibble: based on the video below, it seems like the projection mapped hallway that collapses is directly in front of the darts room (video starts at those effects), so spatially it doesn't quite make sense (it would mean the projection mapped hallways is directly on the same path as the darts hallway). Is that the case from folks who've ridden it in person?

I guess it could vaguely be interpreted as shooting off from an angle, but because the perspective isn't super well defined in the projection it jumped out to me as weird. I don't mind it in the grand scheme of things, just curious.

A bit of an aside, but this reminds me of how Seinfeld's apartment is impossible, as the hallway would go right into the kitchen-

While I think WDI should take care to avoid inconsistencies like this, as long as it's not noticeable on a ride through I think it's okay and hardly the most egregious addition WDI has made to an attraction.
This little theatrical cheat thankfully isn’t noticeable at all on the ride, so that’s good! Just another in the grand dark ride tradition of “Seinfeld’s Apartments.” Other examples that come to mind are Florida Mansion’s exterior windows switching sides of the ride path in the first few scenes, and ROTR’s Kylo Ren finale showing the vacuum of space on the other side of the gun room.

This is really bad. Arguably a big reason for some of the plussing is for storytelling efficiency, but the preshow film gives so much necessary story info that it feels like a step backwards. There is absolutely no reason for it to be missing.

Right- like it's awesome they cleaned skulls and added some projections- but to keep the shortened preshow is ridiculous.

I'm honestly surprised it's not getting discussed more.
Add me to the list of people really disappointed about this. That news reel is sorely missed.

The giant snake seems to not strike as fast as before….or perhaps that is just the impression I am getting just seeing it via video.
When riding in person, I recall that beast had quite a lunge which was a great effect.

Since this was a new refresh of the original figure I honestly was expecting a quick attack as before….perhaps even quicker.
A rather slow reaction now.
Perhaps it will seem better once I ride again….

Chamber of Destiny was such a great effect... absolute travesty they didn't repair it.

The discussion had amongst friends and family who went on it at different times and the realization when you went on it again and again that the room itself was different. Lost now cuz 'pro-jeck-chuns!'

I don’t believe it was as much about it being broken, more about it being finicky. So they decided they could achieve the same thing (for the most part), using projection, no longer bother with it, and decommissioned the effect. More of an active choice made by Disney, to simplify that scene and avoid complex upkeep.

But an incredible effect that I wish would come back. No idea if the mechanics are even still there or what they did.

I don't believe this is the original snake. It looks different to me.

It’s certainly not the OG 1995 snake (from what I can tell), but it looks like the snake that was used through the 2010s up until it was swapped out with the B-mode mannequin.
I could be totally wrong, but the B-mode mannequin snake looked to me like the original 1995 snake without any animation.

Interesting point. It would be cool if the B-mode is the OG animatronic, but in certain POVs you can see hooks on the back along with some wire to hang it from the ceiling rather than mount it to the floor. If it’s light enough to hang from wire, my guess would be that it’s a purpose-built B-mode mannequin that’s been around since 1995, thus explaining why it looks like the 1995 snake. It probably was taken from the same mold and meant to be a B-mode for the original, and they simply kept the original B-mode when they changed the snake.

But again, that’s just a theory…, a SNAKE theory

Wow! Never noticed the hooks or wire- but that makes sense as to why everyone refers to it as a dummy. I like that theory!

Was hoping they'd get Harrison's likeness finally (face and voice).
I don't think that is ever happening due an embarrassment that Ford suffered by Disney while the ride was in development. He won't allow his voice or likeness to be used.

They could at least have the lines re-recorded to sound a bit more like him. If they could find someone to impersonate Rod Serling no doubt they could find someone to impersonate a young Harrison ford. I wonder if they could find a few loopholes to make it more ‘like’ him without actually ‘being’ him?

Since they own the likeness of Han Solo, they could change it into a Han Solo adventure. Han is suckered into joining Doctor Alphra into exploring an alien temple for treasure. We are there to provide cover. The jeeps are turned into land speeders.

The boulder is replaced with the space worm lunging out of the vacuum of space
