But there was a small three second snippet of Indiana Jones running, in the dark, on top of the train where I couldn't believe how bad it looked.
I know the shot you’re talking about and I was also shocked by it. I’m not sure how that sequence was handled between archival footage, a CG figure, or a double with the face replacement. But that shot stood out.

And they botched the voice. Even a voice actor imitating younger Ford would’ve been preferable.

It’s done…flopsville
Well, this isn’t going to be good for the Greek chorus that steps in every few days to gloat “hurr durr at least Disney isn’t Warner Bros. and putting out bombs like The Flash!”

Funny you say that…cause I was thinking the last of the praetorians protecting Bob Iger Inside his “ I loved myself in the 2010s!” Citadel are about as effective as the Italian army these days

Regarding the CGI specifically ... I thought the de-aging was actually pretty good. But there was a small three second snippet of Indiana Jones running in the distance, in the dark, on top of the train where I couldn't believe how bad it looked. It looked like the guy running in Atari 2600 Pitfall. Because it was so early in the film, I said to myself that I needed to be prepared for bad CGI - it completely threw me out of the movie. And the golf cart chase CGI was ridiculous, but that was mostly because of the impossible physics involved.

I know it's cheaper to use computers, but I can't believe these major filmmakers and studios don't realize that if they just do the stunts with practical effects and stunt men, it looks soooooo much better. Tom Cruise has figured it out - which is why Mission Impossible has the best looking action sequences and Top Gun Maverick made a gajillion dollars last year.

Towards the very end of the flashback sequence, with him and the other guy walking up a hill while the camera panned, he was talking but his mouth blatantly wasn't moving. At least, not in a way that matched.

That was the part that stuck out to me as really bad. For the most part I switched back and forth between forgetting about it and finding it noticeable but not horrifically bad.

When they made R1…there was a lot of coverage of just how hard/expensive the de-aging was to do…but they needed to do it.

I would imagine they felt that again…but did Kathy run out of nickels to finish the other shots?

Deadline reports that opening will be toward lower end of estimates. Around $60m but could be lower.

Big write-up with detailed breakdown of PostTrak audience response. The article underplays Crystal Skull’s success with critics. It also played at Cannes and was well-received (Ebert’s 3.5 star rave, e.g.).

Dial’s been much less warmly reviewed by top critics. Article raises questions about how Disney is doing test screenings and whether that strategy is still working for them.

Spoken like someone who has not seen the movie…I have not either… seeing it July 4th, but from what I have heard Phoebe Waller-Btidge is no different from when the other ladies followed Indiana around in other installments
Except there is no love interest and she is a snarky, has no respect and belittles Indy the entire time. There is a lot of anger in her. Which is weird because she loves her godfather as a child. It is also weird she knew nothing about Mutt even though she is about the same age and probably could have gone to Indy's wedding.

At this point, I think Kennedy isn't going anywhere until she wants to leave. Unless she actually does something that is a breach of contract, I think that she's safe. As they say, she knows where the bodies are buried. Lol

thank god I'm not a hardcore Lucasfilms fan. Yall are treated like $#!% 🤣

course I am a big Marvel fan, and we're not bein treated much better... you know what they say, "comic book fans pitching us movies is a red flag"

I’m responding to an article.

It has NOTHING to do with what I have and have not seen.

True. No love interest and definitely looking out for her own $ interests.

maybe the next time Lucasfilm shoehorns Phoebe Waller-Bridge in one of their productions it’ll finally work. Third times’ gotta be the charm!

I hated her character in ‘Solo’ but I didn’t mind her In this. I still don’t want to see her again though

Are you nuts? Marvel fans have been treated better than they could ever have hoped to be treated. There are four Thor movies! Thanos is an internationally known villain! There are more Spider-Man films then Superman films! That would have been INSANE to suggest in 2005!
