Actually Norway was fairly excited to see Frozen implemented and they still tried to be involved with the pavilion in some format. There was still a push to getting a sponsor on board, but for the prices Disney wanted,,,, it was a no go, with the final no decision coming from the Norwegian government at the last hour. At least there is still Norwegian cast in traditional costume.

anyway its just very sad about IDF. There is no reason why it cant alternate with the inferior sing along junk. But like another poster said a few messages up, Disney likes to be and has to be complicated. They could care less and there is no one in charge anymore who does care or knows any better. I imagine Canada will be next and turned into nothing more than drinking in the round. Saw Canada far and wide today, as soon as the song started near the end everyone started leaving, we live in a society that has absolutely no patience or attention span. Sometimes I think Disney is stuck between a rock and hard place. But replacing IDF with a horrible preschool sing along is not the answer, Imagineering is going lower and lower.
You're absolutely right. The Canadian Pavilion has been plagued with outdated stereotypes for many years. They've tried pipe bands, lumberjacks, Celtic rock bands and performances of Canadian folk, country and popular music. None of these shows have properly portrayed the essence or reality of what makes Canada, Canada. The solution is simple. The McKenzie brothers:

LOL! Who doesn't love the McKenzie Brothers? Everything that came out of SCTV was fantastic.
but seriously, they talked about adding a whitewater rafting ride in the Canada pavilion years ago....why can they not come up with a real attraction (not a film or show)? They have made a HUGE mess out of Futureworld with no net gain attractions...they have the room, I wish they would just build attractions already....yeah yeah Journey of water blah blah blah.....

Somehow, I don't think anyone in Norway would have paid to have their country represented by an animated movie loosely based on a story written by someone not even from or associated with their country.

... Maybe if it were a pavilion sponsored by Denmark.
The original fairy tale is set on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen for what it’s worth. When Hans Christian Andersen was born, the kingdoms of Denmark and Norway were united.

It’s fictitious…has nothing to do with Norway…
It’s the first example of what Bob did to torpedo the parks…using maintenance as an reason for overlays to save some bucks longterm
Yes, it's a fictitious country, but it's not accurate to say it has nothing to do with Norway. Even before the ride was conceived, the connection with Norway was being discussed by Disney and embraced by Norway's tourism industry:

Again, this does not mean I think Epcot is the best place for such a ride. It's perfectly possible to hold a nuanced/ambivalent view on the matter.

They probably think a dozen or so emails about IDF showing up within 24 hours of each other are probably just some spammer.

If it were a couple thousand emails, they might begrudgingly make a statement on twitter...and then do nothing.

Aka boilerplate email where there's an _________ for the CM to fill in a general summary of the complaint.

The people responding to the emails can’t really say much more than that, but they do forward them to the appropriate leadership teams and they do get read, whether they act is different, but leaders are reading these.

I can’t believe I have to explain this.

*If* one movie is more popular than the other, then it makes business sense to reduce and/or eventually eliminate the showing times of the one less well attended.

Whichever is more of a people eater is better for business, no matter any person’s nostalgia/childhood memories/nerdiness.

It makes business sense if you are charging for the ride. I think we have seen recently the goals of the resort are:
1.) Add as much IP as possible. IP sells more merch, so make sure it is in everyone's view at all times.
2.) Keep people on the streets as much as possible so they are popping into shops and restaurants more often.
3.) Keep the customer happy with the offerings/less crowds.

I'd make an educated guess the only way they even consider people eating is if they satisfy the criteria 1 and 2 first (aka, themed shops/restaurants). If the top priority is people eating, you wouldn't see every addition to a park met with an equal or larger subtraction most of the time. So, I'd argue the number of people in the theater is at best a tertiary concern.

The response I received was very similar. I just not have used enough negative language…

I have a stupid/outdated question. I thought WS doesn't open until 11AM, or is that changed now...or is it just open to the area next to the International Gateway?

How do you think they even came up with the plot of the Beauty and the Beast sing-along?

Seriously, the "Lefou was setting everything up behind the scenes the whole time!" plot just seems to weird to me, especially for a sing-along...
