The whole pavilion was

But the upstairs has been closed to the masses for ages... I'd like to see it reopen to everyone (likewise with the Odyssey...etc).

Total agreement on all accounts :)

I'd be happy if they just put a classy little restaurant up there so you could look out over the park.

I think that is a really interesting idea. They could have a similar experience you get at the Animator's Palate on the Disney Cruise. An "imagination" dining experience could be something very special.

So, was upstairs (with the rainbow tunnel) not part of the ride? You had to go upstairs and walk through? Was it the same sort of thing as innoventions where you go in and walk around all the different exhibits?

There was all kinds of things that you walked though and could touch and play with different things. All games and activities up there were to help spark your imagination.

This classic piece shows just a few of the many neat things that Image works had.

The rainbow tunnel is not shown but the colored dance floor and a few others are. I also remember Adventure's with Dreamfinder and Figment where families could use blue screens and choose the setting story and outcome of their adventures. It was VERY cool.

That vid kind of made me sad and I noticed that guy's Dreamfinder voice was Dead on!

I have heard people talk bad about Barry Braverman before but he seems like he understands imagination in that clip. Can not see why he was let go from imagineering after DCA.

Wow, now that would be inspirational. Perhaps the dishes would have some imagination to them too, eh!?

It's still there... and it's on... but kind of in a "sleep mode"

Everything is still pretty much up there...

I thought the tunnel was moved over to Innoventions for Tom Morrow's playground.

Or is this a totally unrelated light tunnel :veryconfu :veryconfu :veryconfu

That's because one of the voices of Dreamfinder was one of the original people who played the walkaround Dreamfinder. Thanks so much for putting up that clip.

Wasn't there a classic Imagination/Figment convention or special event happening in August. It was a special paid event you could attend having to do with the original Imagination pavillion. The upstairs was to be where it was held.

Can anyone add more to this. I will try to do a search to find more info.

I wish Disney would do something with Wonders of Life first before working on Imagination. Not that I don't think Imagination should get a rehab but WDI should think of something to do with WoL instead of it sitting there 99% of the year unused.

Well it's like this, either they fix Imagination now, or it turns into WoL. I'm sure WDI has tons of great ideas for WoL, but it isn't about what they want, it's what management wants.

I agree...bring back the rainbow tunnel! Image Works is one of my fondest memories from my childhood at WDW and although I know it won't be the same it will still be great to have Image Works back where it belongs. Back in June I wanted so bad to jump over the rope and run upstairs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...for Image Works and Dreamfinder.

Wow....great video! I love anything that has to do with the original Epcot "Center".
I do too remember a special event having to do with Figment. I remember reading that you get a Figment sculpture, included with dinner. But for some reason, I thought it would be in the Odyssey building. I could be wrong though.
Either way....I hope it's open in August, I'll be there then! That would totally rock my socks!

It's probably just a ripping out of what's still left up there. I doubt anything major is going to happen. Besides, Epcot's 25th anniversary will happen in October 2007, not this August.

They need to start work for it sometime, seems to me that they have a lot to do.

Wasn't it just an event where they were selling a dreamfinder and figment big fig. I remember there being a pretty hefty ticket price tag.

Announcements can happen as little as two months before an attraction opens.
