His blame-someone attitude came out again with DCAs TOT, but I digress. I doubt we`ll never know the full story of who approved funding for JIYI, but it was so bad that TWDC ordered JIIWF less than 18 months later.

Partially due to guest complaints too.

I really don't get why they keep reusing the DL version of ToT, when the DHS one is far superior....

I was actually hoping competition from other park's dark rides, like Hard Rock Park's Nights in White Satin or the Harry Potter rides at Universal would get Disney going on this but they must not pay attention to other parks do they?

They do. But would you really take a park seriously that's only been open for one and a half seasons, and doesn't look likely to reopen any time soon?

Whats SSE???? :confused::lookaroun:)

Oh dear god.

From what I understand, the DL version has more drop shafts (3 versus 2) so the ride has higher capacity and will not be affected as heavily by a shutdown of one of the shafts. It is also not as tall as the DHS version, and while we all know the famous 200ft rule for structures in Florida, I'm not certain what California's rule is in that regard. Overall the DL version is considered the evolution of the ride where they fixed some of the deficiencies.

Stylingwise, I agree with you though - DHS version is much better looking. Other than the mistake with the sign.

I personally think Figment sucks. :zipit::hammer::D

Sorry but i dont get the obsession. I think the fans are made up or something because there is never any line!:o:lol::)

And how many threads are you going to keep repeating this in?

Cost. It`s cheaper. The AGVs are dumb. They don`t have to use LPS to sort out the 101s in the 5th D from the tracking wire being blocked. It`s cheaper.

Did I mention it`s cheaper?

He was only good with Dreamfinder. To tell you the truth I think the ride would be better off with Goofy hosting the ride as of now, maybe Mickey or Minny and have an old cartoon movie type setting. That would suck to but anythings better than it is now.

Man oh man. Imagination is the single most pathetic thing at WDW. It's really an embarassment. But the second incarnation was even worse. The first time I went to EPCOT was in 2000 (tragic, I know). I was nine, and as the day was nearing its end my mom said that each of us kids could pick one more ride to go on. My pick was Imagination, because I was a little nerd and read Disney guide books over and over, and had heard how awesome this ride was. I did not know it had since been changed. So we went, and got the Figment-less version. It was the most ridiculous and utterly pointless thing I had ever seen. They also tried to blind you, I remember, with this huge flash of light at some point in the ride. Perhpas so you wouldn't have to see the rest of it. After it was over, my family and shared some puzzled looks, and my mom said, "You can have another pick, if you want."

Figment was totally different in the original. When they brought him back someone had the genius idea to make him a brat.

What's the mistake with the sign?

What's the mistake with the sign?

A mistake they made in building the original that has been fixed in the other versions.

If you look at the "Hollywood Tower Hotel" sign, it overlaps the exact areas where the elevator shafts were hit by lightning and disappeared into the Twilight Zone. If you look closely you can see the "destroyed" supports behind it. However, if the lightning strike took away these sections, how is the sign itself still intact?

The sign wasn't placed properly and if you look at the other versions, its one or two floors higher than the top of the missing elevator shafts so there isn't a conflict.

I see it as a minor issue and don't mind, I was simply pointing out the one issue with the exterior of DHS. Its simply something that once you notice and know the story, you'll smile when you see it. :animwink:

Nah. It was placed in the correct spot. The placement design was wrong. Strangely, the sign was placed over the blast scars even in some of the original earlier concepts before the final one was reached,

Sorry, that is what I meant. It would have been difficult to install the sign incorrectly and have no one notice, but a bit easier to have the design placement in the wrong spot over the scars from initial planning. Thanks for clarifying.

Probably not i just think there are so many other great rides and characters i just font get why that would be your fav attraction.

Just my personal opinion. But yeah, i suppose if i grew up with it...For example i would be gutted if they changed peter pan!:):):)

JII in its original form had the same magic that one would find in any Fantasyland attraction. The attention to detail on the ride and the overall theme was completely amazing. In its hayday JII always had a line, but towards the end of its lifespan visitors began to skip the ride and go straight up to Imageworks.

Have you ever wached a video of the original attraction? If not I would suggest you take a look and see for yourself. You can check out one of the many videos on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-S4f8hc3EY&feature=related) or you can check out Martin's tribute video on his site.
