What's funny is DL gets complaints about rides being down, but the complaints don't stop them from shutting rides down for refurbs.

Because people would complain more over there if the rides were in bad shape. Besides, like I said, there's more rides in a single space that can contain the crowds.

Haunted Mansion desperately needs a refurb once BTM is up. Sound out of sync, lights on ghosts not working, jerky doom buggies, it needs to go down. I noticed quite a few problems with it.

So far, I like DL's facade better, but we'll see about the actual ride later.

They had to change the outside to make it fit since it's Liberty Square (In other words, Philly) and not New Orleans (actually funny since it's based on a house here in B-more). I like both exteriors. I have two words, though: Interactive queue. That and there's extra rooms in the WDW version. I know it's a spacing issue in DL though.

I spoke with a WDW vet who was visiting DL and he said the interactive queue actually doesn't enhance the experience but dumbs it down. That was just his opinion and I will make my own once I see it with my own eyes.

I agree with him. Thankfully you have an option to skip it.

NOT FOR LONG!!!! Thank Fastpass+ for that.... If you're not in the know, search for the thread... Apparently if you don't schedule your ride with Fastpass+, once it rolls out, you're in the interactive queue (which will be the standby line) and the fastpass+ line will be what we now use as the non-interactive queue...

I'm shocked to hear of broken effects on any DL attraction. This is certainly news to me.

Sound at the beginning in the stretching room was out of sync, sound in the middle was out of sync, some of the ghosts that are supposed to be lit up were not, jerky doom buggies, it was bad even by my standards. I was there six days and noticed the same problem every day.

Tractors at Radiator Springs Racers still weren't tipping.

Also, on Tower of Terror, I noticed that despite the 60 minute wait, they were not running the third elevator shaft. It wasn't just one day, either. It was EVERY day. That one had problems. It was down a lot during my trip. That, and it annoyed me how slowly the CMs loaded everyone. Actually, the CMs over there annoyed me on that ride in general. They weren't as into the part as the ones at WDW. That, and why do we have to stand away from the walls? We don't have to in WDW.

One of the cannons was misfiring on Toy Story Mania. It was slightly to the right, making aiming difficult.

I encountered a broken cannon on Astro Blasters.

Oh, and the sound went out during California Screamin'.

DL does occasionally have issues.

I was pleased to see that Soarin' did not have as much of a film degrading problem over there. And CMs must be smarter over there. They count people in the rows rather than making you stand on the hang gliders;)

It's fun to go through. I like it. But form your own opinion when you go.

I actually didn't know that. Interesting.

Yeah, it's slightly longer to go through it. The interactive queue thing is big at WDW, but they don't force you to do anything.

That one they also give you the option to skip because there is water involved.

One thing I will complain about with WDW: New Test Track. Hated it. Hated it. Hated it. RSR is so much better. The old TT was better except that it broke down all of the time. That, and they stopped giving you the option to skip the design process. I'm business/economics/english minded, not mechanically minded, and the whole design process just confused me. Only doing it with my brother when he wants to and when I take my bff in January since she hasn't seen it. I'm not planning full days for Epcot when we go in January (though we'll be there for 2 evening EMHs and pretty much every night for dinner, so it doesn't matter.)

Seriously? HM does not need FPs. I've never seen it more than 30 minutes, and if it were above that, then just wait a while and it will change! I usually wait five minutes or less for it.

Apparently as I'm seeing threads and putting things together (like the rest of us), most rides that are getting interactive queues are going to be under this new thing. I believe when Peter Pan goes down in Sept? that is maybe something they are doing... adding an interactive queue (don't quote me on that, but that may have been said somewhere on here)... So yeah, FP+ is gonna be a dreaded nightmare.

The new interactive queues will just be something else that will have malfunctions that will get put on a list on a clipboard and put right next to the clipboard with all the ride malfunctions (big and small) that aren't fire hazards that won't get fixed for years.
