Apparently as I'm seeing threads and putting things together (like the rest of us), most rides that are getting interactive queues are going to be under this new thing. I believe when Peter Pan goes down in Sept? that is maybe something they are doing... adding an interactive queue (don't quote me on that, but that may have been said somewhere on here)... So yeah, FP+ is gonna be a dreaded nightmare.

The new interactive queues will just be something else that will have malfunctions that will get put on a list on a clipboard and put right next to the clipboard with all the ride malfunctions (big and small) that aren't fire hazards that won't get fixed for years.

I like the HM interactive queue. As well as SM. And my parents are cursing Disney for not taking care of Dumbo when I was 3. Now Soarin's...we won't go into that.

I spoke with a WDW vet who was visiting DL and he said the interactive queue actually doesn't enhance the experience but dumbs it down. That was just his opinion and I will make my own once I see it with my own eyes.
The Mansion works better with an atmospheric build-up. This increases the eerie, the suspense, the sense of foreboding.

A few cartoon statues that blow bubbles or play sounds only distract from the experience. Like adding ketchup on a carefully crafted sushi meal.

DL's and DLP's Mansions work better now, with their approach through an eerie garden instead of through the MK's approach of vending carts, garish theme park clutter, 'temporary' canopy, cartoony interactive queue. Shame, as originally the MK's build-up was the best.

Stagnant? How so?
The " remain relevant '' sounds like a business is just doing enough to get by. If you are barely doing enough, you are not moving forward at the right pace. Maybe resting on their laurels is a better word?

This was just how I read the post.

I figured the interactive queue was a little kiddish, since I've noticed WDW vets seem to like interactive queues. I was a little shocked to hear some fans disliking Mansion's queue. I assumed it took away the creepy aspect... Guess I was right.

Why are there vending carts in the queue?!?! Are they there everyday or do they come and go?

The interactive queue is not needed. And yes, I posted back in 2011 or 2012 in September that they would be forcing you to go that route, as the FP+ line was taking over the standby line. I even posted a picture but people thought I was playing the role of Chicken Little........

Disney World, Disneyland...all owned by...Disney...big shocker there.

I will always go to Disney World whether my favorite rides are removed or not. If you don't go there anymore then there is one less person in front of me in line.

Why would you continue to go if your favorite rides are not there? And again, why are people ostracizing this person for refusing to willfully hand his money to WDW? Yes, it's the same company, but if more people took a stand at WDW and the attendance shifted to DL then perhaps someone might take notice.

Why is it that when you get a group talking about change you then have people talking about the first person to take the step towards change. It's easy to talk the talk but when you walk the walk you find out who's just full of hot air.

The OP wasn't speaking about the company, just Disney World. So no, if they go to Disneyland instead, Disney World will not benefit, so it's not the same thing.

Um, where have you been, In a dark basement? Of course they are about profit, that is what has people on here screaming about shoddy maintenance, poor attitude of some CMs, lack luster new attractions, etc. It is profit over anything else. Disneyland went through this before and it appears WDW is coming out of it.

Random, but since this seems to be a (sort of) Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World thread...

Epcot or Disney California Adventure? This was a recent "Dueling Disney" article on Micechat, and I was wondering what second gate you guys think is currently the best...

(I love comparing parks)

Looks like that will be soon.
Yep. I've been going since the 1970s and except for 1 trip have always done at least 7days/6nites. I'm not a foodie so the whole thing with dining reservations didn't affect my trips, I can always find something to eat and am perfectly happy sitting at the bar in RainForest or PlanetHollywood and eating. I go to WDW for the rides, the shows, the parades and fireworks (if I happen to be in the right place at the right time), and the overall atmosphere. I use FP and the single rider lines A LOT. But I don't "micromanage" my vacation and I'm not going to sit here days/weeks/months ahead of time and "schedule" my FPs. I'm also not going to stand in line for hours to go on rides that I used to be able to get a FP for at the dispenser and/or use the single rider line. When it gets to that I'll start going to the beach or mountains on vacation and WDW can do without my money and concentrate even more on the large tour groups that have retained "professionals" to reserve FPs for them.

You sound like a true, natural Disneylander.

The most recent was Frontierland. Did you miss that one?

And this is a WDW site... I think I can guess what everyone will pick.

I reserved judgment on the HM interactive queue until I actually got to see it first-hand last August. Sadly, I have to agree with you 100%. It seemed distracting, very uncharacteristic, and too "McDonalds' PlayLand" for this classic attraction. I was not impressed at all.

I wish I had been at the WDI meeting when they decided that bubbles & a cheery poetess was what the ambience needed.
