no offense, but you work at Disney in any management position or similar?
how do you know "how hard" is to manage a disney park vs any other park of other companies?
I didn't say that it was easy to run any other park. I certainly don't think that, but, he was making it seem like Disney should be such an easy place to run because Universal is so perfect.

I do not think that is the point.
The issue we see is, Uni is growing, they're aggressively adding new rides and fixing stuff.
while the complains here.. WDW seems to be cutting corners left and right, even killing services, bad IT stuff.. not investing much and most of the ideas never leave the desk.. while at same time.. making their CEO swim in money.

Each park and group should have their own ups and downs.
But you really shouldnt defend Disney much, they are a MONSTER corporation with an incredible $$$$$ muscle.

I haven't had the bad experiences you have had at Disney... I've been going annually for many years. You always defend Universal to the death. Tis might lead to biased stances from both of us. Disney isn't easy to run, and there are some things money can't fix.

Lol. I just recently started giving Universal the credit it DESERVES. I'm not defending anything and if you take the time to read many of my posts on this forum you'd see that I'm a huge Disney supporter. There are way more things for me to do at WDW and I enjoy the ambiance and layout more. I used to get all giddy at the thought of just being on property.

Universal is far from perfect, but they're putting the money guests spend BACK into the parks. Right now Disney is just sitting on it's collective duff waiting to see how long it takes for guests to notice. @marni1971 is what I would call an expert on WDW and he's seeing the same things I am. So the accusations of me being a "Universal defender" are quite off base and uninformed. I'm simply laying out the facts.

If they want to increase profits, stop giving away food, keep room prices stable for a few years to keep things affordable, lower room prices will increase attendance, and you won't have to discount rooms. More guests paying more reasonable prices earns more profit than periodic spikes in attendance due to deep discounts and giveaways.

Neither of us know what they are actually going to do with the money. But, I don't think they would cut the pay of their valued employees for no reason.
No...
I'm not CERTAIN that the money will go towards important things, but why wouldn't it? They're building Avatar Land, or are at least in the process of creating it. This way (by reducing pay), they will be slowly gaining money that will most likely go towards this project. And other projects! Like Disney Springs. And DVC buildings. Honestly, I think this money will just further the improvement. And make Disney more enjoyable.

You really do think this? WOW - I thought you were kidding!

I think the key piece that you are missing and the reason for all the negative responses is that Disney had a 5 BILLION Dollar profit. If you have a 5 billion dollar profit and laying people off and not building new things like your competition, then something is wrong. Corporate greed? Stockholders with no concern except immediate profits? Inept management? An assortment of other possibilities? Any or all of the above, but, laying off workers when you are busier then you have ever been, in a massive changeover in policies and systems, seems to me to be not too clever.

I understand your logic and normally I would agree, in fact I have, but, that is not the case at this point in time. All it looks like to me is that 5 billion isn't enough.

After hearing about the CM hour cuts to increase profit Incame to realize that Disney World really is only about the money. I'm tired of Disney World ruining and removing our favorite attractions and neglecting them to increase profit while jacking up the prices. It's a Disney themed institution that know people will be suckers and come to the park anyway. Disneyland... Here I come!!!!!!
Your boycotting WDW ...to visit their cousin park, Disneyland?
Re-Read this post, and ask yourself when you walk through those turnstiles and realize the same mouse , and profit, are associated with the same people, and ask yourself who's the real sucker? o_O

Funny because I told myself the same thing in 2012, haven't been since. To none of their parks again. Maybe one day though. :)

Firstly, someone bumped this thread. It's old, so we don't know if the OP still feels this way. Secondly, just because they are/were upset with WDW, it doesn't mean they're upset with the Disney Company in general. The OP said WDW, not the company. Going to Disneyland instead actually is doing something.

I have just returned from 2 weeks in Orlando. I am a DVC owner.i have teenage children. I will return to Orlando but have no inclination to return to the parks. I will play golf and relax.
The parks were so disorganised. I don't know if it is just the Magibands trial, but there were huge queues everywhere. Queues to enter fast pass lanes causing blockages outside of rides. Standby queues longer than ever because it seemed that to many fast passes have been issued. There was a constant stream of people walking down the fast pass lanes on every ride, meaning it was very hard for the attendants to let any standby riders onto the rides.
