James, how many posts of his did you actually read? I made several attempts at being nice to the guy even though his first two posts took hostile shots at me. I tried to help him use the forum in a way that would be clearer to other people and he refused to do even that. I even told him way back in the beginning that I hoped he would stick around and share what information he had with people on Universal. That didn’t stop me from being included in his list of nasty people back on his yahoo club.
I’m guessing that you missed some of his posts. Yes, people were being mean to him but that’s because he showed up being confrontational from the start and had been nasty to myself and others with some regularity and no, that’s not about having a different opinion it’s about how you choose to express that opinion. Did you even see his ever so eloquent post about why he hates “gays”?..
Steve actually has a real job and doesn’t have all the time in the world to patrol these forums reading every single post. The truth is that many of us may have a better understanding of what’s going on than he does in regards to some things. The problem with nWo wasn’t with one or two posts. It was with about half of the nearly 140 that went up in his first few days... He had already lost all credibility by making several posts claiming “facts” that were flat out false.
As Mightyduck stated, the real purpose of us paying to be premium members isn’t to get special privileges on this forum. If that’s what we were doing this for wouldn’t it be easier for us to all just start talking somewhere else?.. The truth is that even after we contribute, Steve is still paying for a good hunk of this whole site out of his own pocket and that money is going to keeping the ENTIRE site up and running. There are people who have joined that don’t even really post. They did it because they get useful information off the site and wanted to give something back.
As for noticing a group thing happening between many of the contributing members, you are right. Most of us are close. That’s mostly because we have all been here pretty much since the beginning of this new forum or earlier and have formed friendships as a result. We are also contributing members because we care about this site and want to see it continue to exist. If you have a problem with any of us, that’s fine but understand that if you choose not to join because you don’t like the company in the premium members lounge, you are only hurting this site and ultimately yourself if you enjoy coming here which you must if you lurked in the forums (a very SMALL part of this site overall) for months before posting. The simple fact that you seem to be trying yourself to discourage people from contributing makes you detrimental to this whole sites existence….
It’s got nothing to do with being invited. Five bucks get you in… and is it so wrong if some of us choose to help keep this site running have a little more respect for others that do the same?
