Pre-Trip I'm Going Going, Back Back, to Poly Poly

I am roughly halfway through my TR from last month so what better time to begin planning a new trip.

When? November (3 days so far but we will be adding two additional days)

Where? Polynesian

Who? My Mother ( @luvinthemajik ) and I.....again.

IMG_20170828_155917.jpg

We are hoping my father may join if his work schedule allows. We will also try and convince my brother to let us bring his daughter since she has an AP. It will require her missing a few days of school though. And for anybody wondering why my wife has not been on the trips with me, its because she is going Italy with her Mom for 2.5 weeks in October. She used all her vacation time for their trip. But she has requested that her and I take a trip early next year (January or Feb) and wants to return to Yacht Club and stay on Club Level, so I better start saving my lunch money. She is a Disney snob (in a good way) but it is all Yacht Clubs fault! When we first stayed there (many moons ago), they upgraded us to Club Level and from then on she was hooked.

We have 3 days in a studio at Poly DVC. Waiting for two additional days at Poly or we may do a split stay and get 2 days at one of the Boardwalk Resorts. Its been a few years since I stayed at Poly. Mom and I stayed at BLT in August and seriously enjoyed it. Now we are on to the next monorail resort. Very excited to try the new DVC rooms and hopefully have a meet and greet with the O-town Ambassador ( @blgauger ) and her fiance. They shafted me in June when they saw me on the bus at AKL, hahaha

That is all for now. Will post updates as they come along. Have a great day everyone!

Finally have an update for this PTR! The title no longer makes sense as the original trip was rescheduled when my MIL was diagnosed with cancer last Oct, but I am happy to report that she is doing ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! She has a 90% reduction since October and has been cleared for travel! I cant thank you all enough for your kind words and support. I truly believe that there are forces in this world we do not understand and that one of them is the power of a group of people all thinking and wishing for a certain outcome and I know you ALL played a part in her getting better. From the bottom of our hearts I thank you.

Now, lets get this mother trucka' rolling!!!!

The original trip was scheduled for Poly in October. We cancelled the trip and were hoping my wife and her mother could visit in December. That was not possible with her treatment schedule. Next I booked a January trip and that had to be rescheduled as her mom had not been cleared for travel. I was able to switch the January reservation to four days at BWV in February. If my MIL was not ready to travel my wife and I were going to go so we began planning. Just recently my MIL's test results came back showing how well she was so now my wife and her will be taking this MUCH needed vacation. I even added an extra day at YC for their first day so they have 5 days total. The cast for this trip is:

My wife, my soul mate and the only person (besides me) who knows how to access the private phone on any Disney attraction:

Her mom ( i dont have a photo of her in my computer so here is a photo of a photo of both of them):

Check in at YC for one night and then over to BWV for the remaining four days. My wife is taking the reigns and planning this trip and making all the ADR's. I always plan our trips so this is a first for her. She was a bit overwhelmed at first with timing fireworks, parades, EMH and FP+ around ADR times but she has gotten the hang of it now. I love walking in the front door and she is watching youtube videos of restaurants and resorts around property with her MDE app open and pad and pen to make notes and book dining. She has decided to get an AP as well. She is so excited that she asked me the other day if her and I could visit soon since we will both have AP's. My response: "Im right on top of that, Rose!" (bonus points if you name that movie reference) And within a few hours I had booked a 5 day trip in April at BWV! So now I can join in on the excitement and start a PTR which will be up soon.

Thanks for following along and ill update this one soon as well. Have a great day everybody!

Thanks for the update. Several times I had thought about your MIL (particularly when we were at WDW in early January) and I hoped that "no news was good news" - and now I know that to be the case :) I hope your wife and her mother have a fantastic time. And I know I've heard the quote but can't place it ... it's killing me :joyfull:

When are you looking to go in April? Not Easter week, I hope!
We are going in the last week of April. Not as brave as @lostpro9het to go during Spring Break
I was literally just wondering how she was doing the other day! Glad to hear she is doing better and you all finally get to take your trip!!
I have been waiting to visit since last October. I am very much looking forward to it. Definitely gonna spend lots of time in WS. Dilly Dilly!!!

I totally missed this entire PTR but I’m so happy to hear your mother in law is doing so well with her treatments ! This trip sounds like the perfect thing to help everyone decompress and get away from the real world for a few days! Can’t wait to hear about more of the plans

Wow! That's incredibly good news about your mother in law!! I had been wondering the past few months if there was any positive change in her medical condition. Very happy to hear she's on the mend, and that the three of you are planning another trip to WDW.

Question: Has anybody ever done early check in (prior to arrival) and still had a balance owed on the room? If so, does it automatically charge the card on file once the room is ready or do you need to pay remainder at front desk when you arrive?

It charged the balance to the card on file on check in day. I did not need to stop at the front desk. However if you want to use a different form of payment than whatever card is on file just stop by the front desk upon arrival and the CM will make the adjustment. The balance does not post until the end of the day IIRC.

Thank you, ma'am. I was actually gonna tag you in my post because I figured you knew the answer. And while I've got your attention, I'd like to ask one more question. In your experience does online check-in expedite a room being ready more quickly than check in at front desk? In all our trips over never used online check in because I like to ask if there's any upgraded rooms available upon arrival. We've had a few successes in getting an upgrade so I always roll the dice and wait till we arrive. Since this trip is just my wife and her mom I'd like to make things as smooth as possible for them.

The girls arrived this morning and have been having a blast today. They used online check in and everything worked out great, thank you @Tuvalu !!!

I definitely got "good husband" credit points by adding an extra day at YC. The LOVE the new room design and their Boardwalk/lagoon view. After reading @fractal 's TR at YC we we're excited to check out the refurbished! They are having so much fun and by the time they left Epcot earlier, my MIL decided to upgrade her park hopper to an AP!!! Disney conversion successful!!! Now I need to get her to join the forums here!

They are already discussing and planning future trips. Since my MIL is now an AP holder, my wife decided to teach her how to tell me that I'm #1

IMG_20180203_181100.jpg

My wife had to tease me and send a pic of her eating an XL doughnut (which I love).

It makes my heart burst with joy that they are both there together and having fun. A few months ago we had no idea where her mom would be in terms of her health and now they are at WDW!!!

They just left HS to get back to the room and enjoy fireworks view at HS and Epcot from the balcony. I'm waiting on food pics and booze pics and will post more later. Thanks for following along
