SpectroMagic went up Main Street the week (and always has as far as I know) during my visit and ended in Frontierland. I believe all of the other parades now go down Main Street to end in Town Square as I recall. It was sometime last year that they modified the day parade to switch and end in Town Square. Better crowd flow was the reason, I think.
All parades currently run from Main Street to Frontierland (unless for specific early closings.)

Hi all, been reading the board for a while, registered but hadn't posted yet. Making my first post to chime in with something I heard.

I was at the Magic Kingdom the other day and was discussing this very topic with some other people; the MSEP and how long it would be going on. One of them said they had heard (no confirmation) that a Christmas parade version :xmas: of MSEP was sent along with the regular parade.

Again, no CLUE if that's true, but if so it's a pretty clear sign.

Too bad there is no christmas version of MSEP. :hammer:

Only christmas parade in the US parks is a Christmas Fantasy at DLR which is not a night time parade. Pumped for MSEP! Cant wait to see it on MS at WDW. Very interesting!

I've got the soundtrack for a Christmas MSEP. I believe it's from Paris but I don't know when it ran.

I think Spectro is better than MSEP. MSEP is more upbeat and may be the original, but it's not to me. And even if it was, Spectro is more magical imo.

But I'm still excited to see MSEP back at the MK, I know I haven't purposely watched spectro since 2003 I think, but I will purposely watch MSEP this summer.

As far as the parade route goes, we start in Town Square and end in Frontierland. It's the same for all parades year 'round. Sometimes, it will be started in Frontierland due to approaching bad weather.

This is looking sweet. And I noticed that Tink's dancers at the beginning are very far from her float but the America dancers were alongside, isn't there a rule that you can't be dancing beside a float anymore? I'm not unhappy. And that is Jack Wagner's voice or a similar vocoder effect, though it's not the original announcement.

That is indeed Jack's voice. I heard some where the opening and Closing announcements were edited together from several tapes w/ Jack's voice. speaking of which does anyone know if they did the same thing for the '99-'01 announcements or did someone else record that set?

do you happen to know why they reversed the order of the units in the Pinocchio section? traditionally the Fun House face was first then Pinocchio's float. It's also weird seeing a donkey boy next to him instead of Lampwick.

In my most humble estimation: This parade eats Spectromagic's lunch, then gives it a wedgie and makes it do its biology homework.

actually what they mean is a christmas soundtrack aka the parade music w/ Christmas music mixed in. They did this when the Parade was in Florida last time. the neat thing w/ the Christmas soundtrack for this version of the parade is certain elements of each music loop is replaced w/ Christmas music. do a youtube search for "Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights Christmas" and you'll see what i'm talking about

did they find the Synthesized version of the announcements or were they just the spoken tracks used the first 2 years?
It's a synthesized version, but from two different sources. As far as I can tell, there are no previous versions of MSEP where Jack Wagner spoke the words "Magic Kingdom" in the introduction, so this section seems to have been edited from another source. My theory is that it is Don Dorsey's voice, similar to the process used when creating the underliner for DCA's version. Others have different theories.

And if the show producers did find the original recordings, why not just use the original introduction, with "Walt Disney World proudly presents..."

Day parades have always started in Frontierland and ended in Town Square, at least since 97 when I was a CP
