Illuminations Disappointment

I may be the minority, but I've never really cared for Illuminations.

RoE is my favorite night show on property, and I don't really get the dislike of the show. It is much more original and meaningful than its previous iterations, poorly scored and stereotypical nationalistic music.

Are you serious? Stereotypical nationalistic music? Beethoven, Strawinski, Wagner, Mussorgsky, Tschaikowsky, Bizet etc.

I watched RoE 4 times on my last trip. It gives me chills everytime I watch it. I think it might be my absolute favorite thing on all of WDW property. I just have to chalk up the opinions in this thread to the inevitable differences we all have. I just can't imagine being underwhelmed by it, or preferring Fantasmic! or Wishes.

I never saw the older version, so I am interested in watching the video. But if it had less pyro and less focus on the lagoon story of the earth's history, I don't think I'd have been as moved by it.
