Chicago is the number 3 tourist city in the WORLD behind New York and Jerusalem, so know a little something about what you say before you say it.

Where did you pull up that statistic?
The U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Office of Travel and Tourism Industries/International Trade Administration cites the following for 2003 tourism from overseas visitors alone.

Chicago is 9th on the list of US sites alone.

If we were going to talk statistics, we would have to actually understand statistics. The largest component of a group (e.g. Chicago visitors within all WDW visitors) would be called a plurality, not a majority. Further, you would have to take a lot of things into account to compare, like how many people live in an area and you would have to standardize for the size of that area. I would hazard a guess that the largest number of visitors to WDW per capita goes to Orlando.

Followed right behind by Boston (same number for state and city), making that just as ideal of a city. I remember about three years ago we heard rumors about Disney incorperating some structure by the waterfront with the Big Dig. So far nothing has panned out. Boston has lots of great landmarks and not a high crime level in many areas. Disney should consider Boston as a possible option.

the obvious first choice would be the top city on the list...New York has already been VERY friendly and profitable to Disney, and they have access to tens of millions of people within a 90-minute train ride. Plus, it's by far the greatest city in the world.

Some people say that Toy Story Live is considered to be in Fantasyland Theatre. If it is, my wish is coming true! WHEE!:sohappy:

I wonder if there is a list of the top cities/states of WDW visitors?

I thought I remember hearing New Jersey was number 1...but it would be interesting at least.

Just to point out, this list is INTERNATIONAL visitors and from 2003. I'll admit this though... With NYC and LA being larger U.S. cities than Chicago, it widens the DOMESTIC field that Chicago has to pull from since NYC and LA both have larger populations than Chicago. The internal Disney poll I was privy to in 2002 did show Illinois with the highest field polled zip code returns. New York and Massachussates were second and third in the poll. Maybe majority was the wrong wording to use, but IL, then NY as MA were the 1,2,3 of the list that was distributed.
