Iger shoots down idea of Dreamfinder return to JII

Know what's annoying to me, much more so than this odd guy and his question?
That nobody, fan or shareholder, took the opportunity to stand up and ask why the huge E ticket ride they spent $100mil on four years ago has almost none of it's effects working. Including it's highly publicized, highly touted star AA.
And why it seems like nobody in management seems to care?

THAT would be a reasonable question to ask. Not a fanboy-centric, over-long question that kinda puts all fans in a bad light.

These are the type of questions that should have been asked. Next year, a few weeks before the next annual meeting we should start a forum and come with a list of good well thought out questions for anyone to use. I'm sure a good percentage of people on these boards are also stock holders. If any of us are able to go we'll have at least a good list of questions to ask. I know if it comes anywhere near the New York area next year I'll be there.

Ok, as painful as it was to listen to the fan ask his Dreamfinder question, I have to give Iger credit for not mocking him like we are. I didn't hear Iger shooting down the idea of Dreamfinder returning, he gave an honest answer, and followed up by saying that he would speak to the imagineers about the return of dreamfinder.

As for whether or not Dreamfinder should return, I'm luke warm on the idea. Figment returned in name only - the Figment in the attraction now is not the Figment that was in the attraction 15 years ago.

As for a forum for shareholder questions, this is a great idea.

Exactly my thought. When did he "shoot down" the idea of Dreamfinder returning? Igers answer wasn't horrible at all and is a typical answer I would expect from a CEO.

CEOs tend to dance around questions like this.

As far as Dreamfinder, he was a little creepy to me -- South Park had a hilarious few episodes poking fun at the Dreamfinder.

I'd be pretty disappointed with any CEO that let a single fan's demeanor and oratory skills have any impact on any major creative or financial decision the company makes. He handled the question deftly, and his answer shouldn't be any indication of whether or not Dreamfinder returns to the attraction.

To me, it doesn't really matter if Dreamfinder returns or not. I just keep hoping they'll make an attraction that's as entertaining and grand and special as the original, even if it didn't include that character.

Maybe someone can just put the guy and his question part up on youtube?

As far as the Imagination goes, they should just retheme it to be the Imagination Warehouse and have the 3D movie feature the Imagination Movers from Playhouse Disney. It would fit perfectly, kids would like it because they know the show but at the same time it wouldn't talk down to adults and could be really funny and entertaining.

Disney do it or we'll send more weirdos to ask you rambling questions, don't think that we wont!

As several others have already said I'm not particularly attached to the idea that Dreamfinder MUST return to an updated version of Imagination.

As long as the updated pavilion is high quality, creative, entertaining, and fun it really doesn't matter if Dreamfinder OR Figment have a place in it.

Are the Imagination Movers the same people who brought us "give a gift to your brother, give a gift to your sister..." on the christmas parade these past two years in a row? If they are I am not sure which would be worse...an attraction starring them or the gentleman that brought his college thesis on the Dreamfinder to the shareholder's meeting! Just kidding!!

Did he, though? Do you REALLY think that he meant that? 'Cause I don't. I think Iger has more pressing concerns on his mind.

And it's not really "honest" to imply that WDI isn't interested in Dreamfinder, as other posters have noted previously.

I think that is the guys. You should check out their show, its on at 10 am on the weekends, I believe. We watch it because we have a 2 year old but its a really good show for kids. Now I'm not suggestion that they just do their show for an attraction. They could use the characters to make an attraction that could appeal to all ages. It'd be a lot better than no update at all, which is what we have now.

"appeal to all ages" != show whose primary audience is pre-school aged children. :brick:

I have seen the Imagination Movers, since I have a young son, and I do think the show is funny, but I wouldn't want an attraction based on it. I don't really want the Imagination ride to feature ANYTHING from any show or movie. I wish they'd do something like the original. Or just anything original, period.
