Iger shoots down idea of Dreamfinder return to JII

The way he handled some of the questions seems kind of arrogant....

Maybe he and all the other insiders are just sick and tired of you fanboys constantly driving them and the company so crazy with such demands that they can't take it anymore. In that case, they have every right to be a bit peeved.

At least Iger acknowledged Roy E. Disney and all he did for WDFA.

Which is something that Eisner the Miser most certainly would've never done, especially during the second half of his tenure when the Eisner/Roy rift occurred, which led to the Save Disney campaign coming into being.

Regardless of the circumstances, I would take Iger over Eisner any day.

The Imagination Pavilion is an embarassment. I don't necessarily think that bringing back Dreamfinder is the only way to fix it, because bringing back Figment didn't improve it.

They could eliminate Dreamfinder, they could eliminate Figment, but they can't eliminate Imagination - that's the problem right now. It's not an imaginative pavilion, it's not creative, it's not the same whimsical experience it used to be.

I agree, I could have handled losing DF better if the new ride would have been a proper successor. He could at least give us a proper version 4, even if it doesn't have DF.

Figment sucks now so what's to say Dream Finder won't be bad as well. Who knows if Dream Finder won't go on the same drugs that Figment is on?

I am ashamed to say that I know that he was NOT an actor hired by Bob Iger. He is a member of our local chapter of the NFFC and at our last meeting he bragged about a speech he had written by a former corporate writer to present his question about the Dreamfinder. I, too, would love to see the Dreamfinder return but he really lost me with his endless prattle. And his dismissal of his two time warnings really, in my opinion, lost his cause.
This guy does have a tendency to remind people that he is a member of MENSA and I am surprised he didn't bring it up during his speech.

If you EVER have to tell ANYBODY about how ANYTHING you are -- you are already overcompensating. Any convincing is just sad.

He only sucks now because they chose to write his character as a comic foil to Eric Idle, as opposed to the innocent child that he originally was.

They can just as easily restore his rightful character when/if they choose to restore the entire pavilion.

Poor guy. He's clearly very passionate, but has no idea what he sounds like. He completely killed his point before he even got there. After all that rambling, there's no way he could sound like anything but a nut.

Also, I'll bet Iger is just going to hurry right over to Glendale and have a heart-to-heart about Dreamfinder :lookaroun... talk about dismissing someone out of hand.

Yikes... I just listed to this... wow. You're not going to get the suits on your side when you use words like "...turned into the most despised attraction...". He's giving them waaaay too much background / history. They know this already, as do most of the shareholders, I'd assume. He's also Kodak -- a sponsor -- which is another no-no. "How do we elicit the passion in you that Eisner couldn't..."... never, ever throw down a challenge about the previous CEO and make it sound like he was better, or whatever.

I think Iger handled his response to this whacko rather tactfully.

Judy :)

I can't get it to play, is there a transcript anywhere? I'm very interested to hear this.

Something is definitely brewing for Imagination... I just have my doubts as to how soon it's going to happen. Have faith, though. They know better now.

Yeah people really don't help the cause when they labor the point like that.

Yeah that's what I don't like about these shareholder events - sometimes the people who ask the questions that should be asked are the absolute worst stereotypes of what sneering Disney execs think all fans are. It doesn't help the cause.

Eegads that was grim. The worst kind of nerd-dom in a completely inappropriate place.

If I was Iger, I'd kill Dreamfinder just because of this guy. If that's the
sort of fan Dreamfinder has, I'd want to keep him far away. I'll bet
this guy is on some sort of creepy watch list.

Ick. Thanks for nothing.

I would say that Iger gave him WAAY much more respect than he deserves. Class act, there.

I know everybody has got their favorites but I wonder how much the typical Disney visitor misses Dreamfinder. I'm sure some do...but do most consider him a "must" Disney character, just wondering? (I realize this thread may not be the best place to get an unbiased opinion)

Know what's annoying to me, much more so than this odd guy and his question?
That nobody, fan or shareholder, took the opportunity to stand up and ask why the huge E ticket ride they spent $100mil on four years ago has almost none of it's effects working. Including it's highly publicized, highly touted star AA.
And why it seems like nobody in management seems to care?

THAT would be a reasonable question to ask. Not a fanboy-centric, over-long question that kinda puts all fans in a bad light.

Honestly, on any given day at Epcot, probably 80% of the guests, or more, don't have any idea who DF was/is.

That's exactly why listening to that guy made me cringe. Ugh.

That would have been a great question! So why weren't you there to ask it for us Lee!?!? ;)
