I offered them a trade: Anything in Epcot for the AC. No takers.

Off topic, I can't see where they talked much about DCA or about Space Mountain at all. Odd if so.....

They were too busy responding to important comments and questions from the shareholders such as:

"I think Bob Iger is doing a heck of a job and worth every penny Ahee!"

"Mistah Iger...why did...Walt Disney...Create Walt Disney?"

"I saw people smoking cigerettes in a movie about the 1940s distributed by your company. SHAME ON YOU"

There were passing mentions to DCA being in the midst of a major overhaul and the creation of Carsland. No Space as far as I heard, but that seems like very small news in the pantheon of the entire company.

you realize the question was about bringing the Adventurers Club to downtown disney anaheim...

The thread lacked a good description....so no.

Now I have a reason to purchase a Fail Sticker.

I hardly see how that necesitates a sticker.

You are wrong on so many levels.

Really? How so? I was told by someone "within" that most of the stuff is long gone. And yes, while it's still being used for private functions, it's a shell of what it used to be.

Lee's gonna be ed...

As was I when Horizons and World of Motion were removed/re-themed. Eventually you get over it.

Agreed.... there are much bigger things to discuss and go over during these meeting than one of the major rides, in one of the parks, of one of the world-wide resort properties; which is part of one of the divisions of the original Disney company before the major subsidiaries were added to the portfolio. In their minds, discussing an already publicly announced major rehab of a ride, is a trivial item and doesn't do much to increase the value of the company to their shareholders. If a major incident occured on one of the attractions recently, then for sure it would be discussed, because of the PR nightmare it creates for the company.

AC party is OVER!

It's dead and gone.

Most of the items have been shipped to HKDL, and I've heard from many people that AC just wasn't a big draw except for fanatic fanboys and CM's. Neither of which are a big drinking group, which was making the AC very little money.

Honestly, three threads now? Can we move on? I miss PI too, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

The PI AClub required a lot of CM's to run, less people came & NOT  buying drinks, do the math. If it costs more money to run than it makes BYE  Duckberg

Had it been properly positioned to guests, properly promoted and advertised...the Club would have done just fine. Just like clubs at the Boardwalk.
PI was mismanaged, mishandled, and positioned to fail, regardless of how good the clubs were.

Really? I'd give them Imagination 3.0 ... or TT for it!

Not really ... I've been to about a dozen annual meetings over the years (don't go very much now since they tend to have them in out of the way places or places I have no interest in spending the money/time to go) ... and they usually result in little tangible news ... and some very odd questions tossed out by some of the owners in the crowd.

But sometimes you get REAL memories ... like when Jane Eisner was in MAJOR need of a restroom at the YC Convention Center and mistook a relative of mine for a Disney 'suit' and he pointed out the closest choice ... or my all-time favorite ... back in 1990 at the Anaheim Conventio Center watching Roy and Patti (think she uses an 'i') Disney have a knockdown, dragout family fight with their daughter with f-bombs (and other non-magical terms) flying. At the time, I hadn't met him personally yet ... but that one ugly incident did more to humanize him to me than anything else. I doubt you'll ever see something like that from Bob and Willow!

Well, I agree but only to a point ... the BW clubs (and there are only a couple) are aided greatly by the fact there are five huge resorts there that all do huge convention business ... it's nice to stagger out of a club at 2 a.m. and have a short walk to your room at the BW, Dolphin etc ...

PI was definitely mismanaged as well. No doubt about it. And when the concept for killing the place first got brought up (and I heard it as far back as 2001), it just wound up seeming like such a foregone conclusion.

I will agree though that AC in its later years attracted an awful lot of regulars (CMs, fanbois etc ...) who would either not drink at all, or buy one drink and nurse the thing the whole night ... that didn't help.

But again, it didn't matter either. Disney chose to close PI ... NOT AC. That club was never viewed by any other measure than the others when the time came to kill the place for good.
