Iger rumored to extend his term as CEO

Not to mention actively assist and endorse documentaries about him which make it look like he thought all his animators were communists.

Meanwhile, Wall St's hero worship of Iger is consistently encouraged.
For the record I don't hate Iger and acknowledge his successes, but the psych/power game of tarnishing Walt Disney's legacy while elevating the current CEO is, uh, 'a bit much' IMO. Some Wall St analysts suggest that Iger is the best CEO of the current generation #goat. And SWOT analysis is gone so long as they are all making money.

I believe I have read somewhere that Iger has political aspirations. Wouldnt it be interesting to see what would happen if he ran on the opposing party's ticket against our current president. I think that would cause alot of heartburn for some.

Yes he has said in interviews that there are people encouraging him to run (probably for Senate).

Of course Wall St worships Iger he's sending every spare dime of Disney's cash to Wall St in the form of Stock Buybacks so he can boost his personal compensation package.

Great, my second least favorite person challenging my least favorite person for the Presidency. The only difference is my least favorite person has charisma.

Iger is too centrist to get the nomination at this point in time. Reason and moderation are not permitted in his party. Perhaps by 2024.

It really takes Donald Trump to convince people that Iger is terrible? Who am I to complain since I hate both men with every fiber of my being.

To be fair, it doesn't sound like the protest has anything to do with Iger's reputation and this is solely about get Iger (and by proxy Disney as a company) to "take a stand against Trump". More anti-Trump than anything about Disney/Iger.

Tomorrow is the shareholder meeting, I wonder if we'll hear anything more about the possible extension.

I did have a weird feeling when he said he would continue if they were unable to find someone new.

"I'm going to do what's in the best interest of this company... If it's in the best interests of the company for me to extend my term, I'm open to that." ~Bob Iger

I think that he should accept in a truly synergistic fashion and utilize some dialog from their hottest IP:

"It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy shareholders. I love the Republic Board. Once this crisis has abated, I will lay down the powers you have given me!" ~Chancellor Palpatine Bob Iger

LOL. I just knew it. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/iger-out-in-2018.914318/

In contrast to other CEO's - Iger is underpaid and way overextended. He has to oversee Disney Theme Parks, Disney Cruise Line, Disney River Cruise, Disney Hotels, Disney Restaurants, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney Animation, ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel, Disney Video Games, Disney Toys, The Disney Store, The Disney Radio Channel, Disney Licensing and Merchandising, etc.
.
Those are just brands/BUs under the company. Someone leads all of those and reports to him. In comparison, Carlos Ghosn runs 3 different companies and is the CEO of each. Nissan alone is worth twice what Disney is worth. Add in Reneault and Mitsu and he has a much tougher job then Iger. Point is, he isn't underpaid and overextended. If he is then he should leave his job!

Hate is corrosive, I'm in the virulent dislike category I cant work up the emotional energy necessary for hatred and frankly neither is worthy of hatred which should be reserved for folks like Pol Pot.

I guess you are right. There are worse people but these two have actually personally affected me and are major contributors to my present emotional state.
