For DIS it has not been.. how often has Parks (Not P&R.. parks) shown double digit growth YtY?

You don't have to have 20% or even 10% growth to be a growth business. A .000001% uptick is still growth and Disney is doing a helluva lot better than that.

ok so dont kill me on here as im just a regular ole' joe who happens to love WDW....but im dying to find out how the WDW1974 and jt04 "fued" started lol...ive been trying to get some good info on this DTD expansion as well as some other "behind the scenes" knowledge and I keep reading these back and forth messages from you two...
Me, too. I mean, regular old Joe...or Jane...

It is nice to see other fans, though. :)

But there are some things I don't want to know, lol. Hatfields, McCoys. MMOB. :D
The Mickey shorts are a result of the fact that Mickey (wait, til you see the hate I get on this one) is slightly more relevant than Oswald these days. Most kids only know him as a foamhead at 'Disney' or a corporate symbol.

And make no mistake, Disney is desperate to make him relevant again ... but they have to do it slowly. If they put out a Mickey feature tomorrow, they know it would bomb as much as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature or even (with all the Bronys) a My Little Pony film and that would harm the company/BRAND in a huge way.

This is step one in trying to make Mickey relevant again ... because hs simply isn't.
Agreed. They let Mickey slide into oblivion. When kid programming (other than Saturday mornings) began, Disney should have been all over it. Mickey should have been on the screen with Maya the Bee.

Then they decided to get rid of him and make Stitch the big cheese. Dumb, dumb, dumb. For like a decade, I've watched them attempt to replace Mickey with Stitch.

Now they're finally doing something about it...but Mickey should be everywhere at WDW. That's what people expect. As much as they joke about it, it's what they want from Disney.

Me, I could live with very little Mickey at this point, lol. Living here, you get your fill. But he belongs all over WDW.

IMO. :)

Well, if it involves an interchange of I-4 it becomes county and state business as well ...
I think we both know that is not the sort of nonsense being alluded to in this case. If the interchange was so important to the entire project moving forward it would not be in its own state of flux.

While I agree they can still grow, beig a growth business would be bigger than GDP. Marginal growth is considered mature. Uni still grows, showing the industry can grow, unless their growth is at the expense of Disney... Which it hasn't been since they haven't shrunk lately.

Yes, Dave, how many? Enquiring minds want to know!

A number is fine. We need a number. We don't need details.

There you go again using terms you don't understand...

You are right Professor Knows It All ... I am using growth in the non-Wall Street, common sense way that most here would understand it.
But since you think you're smarter than everyone, please drone on about semantics. You love playing that game.

But please help the ignorant, are you stating that Disney is in perpetual state of contraction and can only marginally grow as a mature business entitity by extracting ever more from ever less (you know, like with MM+)?

Glad you did well in Economics 101 and Logic 101 ... but that kind of play here, however, can be seen right through as well because many here did well in those subjects too.
