If you're banned for life, how does Disney keep track and enforce the ban?

Full disclosure. I googled something else, and this thread appeared in the results. Two edibles later, I decided to reply and bump it back to life.

Thank you, you beat me too it.
WDW uses facial recognition software, similar to what casino's use for people on the blacklist.

You will get in, but security will eventually find you
WDW is covered in cameras. Just covered.
You can't see most of them.

Disney's notoriously stingy. They don't do facial recognition because they won't pay for it. And while they do have loads of cameras, they're not for the reasons you assume: they're there to stop shoplifters in the act, and for safety on attractions; but not to follow people around automatically.

With that out of the way, if they want a picture of you for their files, they will get it. I've seen Disney's BOLOs before, and in more than one, the picture used was identical to one used in a drivers license (the same crap lighting, pose, etc).

Please go and read for this very old thread.........
FR tech is decades old - ranging back to Vegas - - - - It is not expensive.

Just use your common sense - a billion dollar company has a lot of money to lose in many ways - and shoplifting is not one of them.

FR is used for many monetary reasons.

No, I'm just going from my decades of experience having worked with Disney as a CM and as a supplier to the company, plus as a direct family member (not "cousin") of an OCSO Sargent whose beat for the last 4 years of his career was Sector 6 (ie Disney/RCID).

They are notoriously stingy. Like insanely stingy. How stingy? It took me close to 40 days to be reimbursed for having to put gas in a company vehicle on my personal card because I didn't have a p-card. None of my subsequent employers never took longer than 10 days, and in most cases also gave me a P-card. How stingy as a supplier? They got the deepest discount of anyone else we dealt with, and their terms were Net 90, where Universal was Net 30 - or just gave us a card over the phone. So yeah, they're stingy.

Beyond that, the overwhelming majority of their security there is for show. There are holes in Disney's security big enough to drive a car through. Disney security is mainly there to protect the bottom line - but it's still cheaper to allow for some loss than it would be to install FR across the property.

Well if you say so, it must be true.

Google must be lying then.

Google isn’t doing anything. They don’t write the articles. These articles also don’t back up your claims. They are about temporary small scale tests, not the wide scale deployment you have claimed.

They tested it almost 2 years ago and there hasn't been a whisper since then. 🤷‍♀️ Testing it doesn't mean it is part of park ops now ~ or ever.
August 21st 2022.......?
That's 2 years ago.....look at the date of my first link.
So let me see....they start testing over 2 years ago....and still do it every few months......

Go do you your own research, not following what someone claims to be online.

What more do you people need?
Whatever?

My uncle is Bob Iger.....he told me different.

22 years on this board. My account is old enough to join me for a drink.

There are plenty of people that post here have met me in real life, I've submitted plenty of content that's been published here and on other sites, and hell, I've broken news of new things here.

You don't need to believe me Nick. But no one needs to believe you either.

Good afternoon.

Nope. You just chose to use the google results that fit your previous posts. But if you dig a LITTLE further, you find this nugget of joy:

Yes they ended the public test......
So they must not be using it at all......
My mistake.

Good grief🫠.

Disney has nothing to loose and everything to gain from using this tech. It runs it self.
Unreal people.

Your own cell phone is keeping tabs and listening to you.
Disney is too cheap to use old software to track and monitor its patrons.
That's a fantasy land.

Apology accepted!

Good grief🫠.

Are you Nick or Charlie?

Disney has nothing to loose and everything to gain from using this tech. It runs it self.

Someone's never heard of the word liability. Why won't Disney use this? The same reason that they never bothered to have their own police force, even though the RCID charter allows them to. The same reason Disney security vehicles have yellow strobes (instead of white or blue). LIABILITY.

Your own cell phone is keeping tabs and listening to you.

Not the same type of monitoring, and also I'm well aware.

Disney is too cheap to use old software to track and monitor its patrons.

You have no idea how cheap Disney is.

That's a fantasy land.

No, this is reality.

THIS is fantasy land:
