if all you could do was sit on a bench anywhere on disney property for one hour, where would you sit... now, take into effect:
The atmosphere
The music played (*Disney Trivia Side Note - do you know the only place in the Magic Kingdom where a specific area music is not played?)
The surrounding rides/attractions

I would def. sit on Main Street USA!
- the best music
- happy visitors pouring in
- funny/delirious/tired/mad/happy/sad visitors leaving
- the sound of the parades/bands/train
- the smell of the bakery/confectionery shop
- the view of caseys, ice cream parlor and the castle
- the trolleys and horses

Personally, and I have done this for much longer than an hour. I take a blanket and sit on the grassy area in the World Showcase, near either Italy or Morrocco. Its interesting to watch the melting pot of people come together.

My mom always sits on the benches on Sunset Blvd while she waits for us to be done riding Tower and Coaster over and over...usually at night...she LOVES the old Hollywood music...we littertaly have this on video for hours!

A place I like to sit is at FANTASMIC! I honestly LOVE getting there super early and watching it fill up. I used to like "4 for a dollar' that use to sing there, they were really good. Now it's Disney remixes, it's still cool either way. We usually try to get to know the people around us too...makes the time go quicker.

I also like chilling at the benches all around Caribbean Beach late at night...don't know why...just the atmosphere i guess.

The benches in Mexico across from San Angel Inn -

Great people watching, easy access to beer & nachos ... what's not to love? :sohappy:

I would have to say, somewhere on Main Street USA. It's my favorite part of WDW. The smells, the great music (which, I know the words to almost ALL the songs from the musicals they play), watching everyone walking around. It's just an awesome place.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I have done this before: (for over an hour)

-Smokers Bench in Germany in the WS, great for people watching, watching the RoE barges come out around 2:30pmish, drinking a Becks Octoberfest, listening to the german music, and meeting really nice chain smoking French tourists :)

-Smokers section behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in the MK, great for people watching, and its nice to always look in at the x-mas shop, hear the x-mas music, & smell the cinnamon smell they pump into the place is nice when it wafts outside :)

I personally like to sit around the world showcase and wait for RoE to start. The music and the build up before the show always gets me going. We have sat around numerous spots and just love to listen to the music and people watch. This is also a fav time for me to check out some of the beers around the world showcase!!

Good topic. This is already one of my favorite things to do. I like to alternate spots on Main Street. Outside the ice cream shop. Down by the wooden Indian statue. And even though it's not a great view, the smoking section by Tony's.

I love hearing the background Christmas music over and over and over. I may have to invest in a cam camcorder and SLOWLY walk both sides of Main St.

And watching people run hell bent on getting on that next bus.

Main Street USA!

This was always the first park we would visit when getting to WDW. So I know I am in Disney when I see MSUSA.

Ahhhh, I wish I was there now. :)

OK, I would have to say Main Street USA and/or the Hub near the Partners statue. That where I saw an older brother carrying his young brother around to all of the little staues of the characters as he kissed each of them good-night.

As for the trivia....the only area without specific area music would be the path along Cosmic Ray's since it's too much of a mix of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland that either would be out of place.

At least that's what I think.....

MORE TRIVIA (Learned on the Keys to the Kingdom)

As you are headed from one land to the next, what is that small area of overlap in area music reffered to as?

The places I like to relax and just sit and enjoy the atmosphere are across from the "paper stand" by Dinosaur Gerties or over by Sid Cahuengas in MGM. My wife and I just love the old time Hollywood feel.

I would have to say Main Street USA...the music is great and its fun to watch the kids. I love to sit in the twilight on one of the porches at the Wilderness Lodge...just like being at home with all the cricketts, frogs, etc.
