Trip Report If At First You Don't Succeed...*COMPLETED*

Well we're trying again.

Easter week at WDW.

Not my favorite week to visit but when your travel buddy is a teacher, you make the sacrifice. Except this year it doesn't feel like a sacrifice. The loss of our Easter 2020 vacation (thanks to COVID) was harder than I expected. I’m excited to have the chance for a do-over!

Of course the plans we had in 2020 aren't the same for 2021. We'll have no Fastpasses to skip the long lines. There will be no turkey sammie for lunch at Be Our Guest or All-American Sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. No fireworks to conclude our Disney days. And we'll be staying at a different resort.

But that's all okay....there's still fun to be had! And thanks to the credit we received from last year's cancellation, most of our trip is already paid.

I have to give David's Vacation Club Rentals props. Eighteen months ago I'd signed a "no refunds" contract for our 2020 points rental, figuring it was a low-risk gamble. When the pandemic happened and WDW closed, we considered our monies lost ~ disappointing for sure, but understanding that was the result of the risk we took. After all, David's is a business which would also lose money from this pandemic. Legally they did not have to do anything for us. Yet I received a travel voucher for the full amount we paid.

I hope to report live on the adventures of Tuvalu and Em beginning next Sunday. Time will tell if I succeed. ;)

Great trip report, thank you for sharing! Your humor is great, from expensive smoothies to 300 dollars lamps, your posts are hilarious. Leaving home nowadays is a question of value for your money. But Disney World keeps drawing all its fans back despite the prices.
I had a good experience with the DVC rental brokers who have been flexible with their cancellation policies. I had to cancel my trip booked through a DVC broker and got a portion of my money back. Stay safe in Florida!
I appreciate your kind words, @mickey.mac. Happy to know your DVC rental broker refunded some of your money.

Agree that Disney remains very good at drawing guests back despite price hikes!

I love doing live trip reports, but the last day always gets away from me 😂😂

Thank you everyone for your concern. 💜

We were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Cars began to move and we moved up a couple car lengths. The senior lady in the C-class Mercedes behind us took her eyes off the road and didn't brake when we stopped again. Em said, "This lady is going to hit us" right before the she did. Thankfully no one was hurt, damage was very minimal and there was no need to file a report.

But it was one more hassle during an already stress-filled journey!
So glad you are ok! That's pretty lucky that no one was injured!

I'm going to hijack your report for a second @wdisney9000 style. On my recent trip, I realized I don't know where a single ride camera is, when you so obviously know where every one of them are. I'm posting the 2 that made me laugh right out loud. I also thought of you when I was there as it's the first trip in awhile that I didn't come solo, and I met one of my best friends from grade school for the trip. It made me think of you and Kel and I smiled a LOT thinking about you two.

The Pirates one made me laugh because we got caught yapping! It was my friend's first time on it and she loved it, so I'm sure that's what's happening.

Well here I am joining on page 27!great report so far - looks like it was a fun trip

I was kind of relieved at page 35 where you gave up due to Wi-fi as that meant I skipped a couple of pages quickly

Was also initially surprised you weren’t at the Poly but you made it there (I should have known that)

gald you got to have dinner with Amy and Brad, that sounds like fun.

also love the Olaf towel pegs they are just so cute.

not sure how I feel about the plexiglass and hoping as soon as there is hope that they are removed like the hand washing stations I see are being removed over the parks.

the ice cream pictures made me home sick as I’m sure the BTMRR pics will when they come :)

Em and Tuvalu had to suffer through dinner with just me. ;):joyfull: I was on a solo trip because Brad (being a pastor) had to work on Easter. He gets to come with me though in June so hopefully he will get to meet these two lovely ladies then.

I am so over plexiglass (esp. the plastic vinyl dividers) and hope they don’t become permanent.

Warning: there are homesick pics coming.
