what i thnk about this idea
oh, im happy to know u KNOW its a good idea, oh god I mean really calm down, I want a real answer from somebody, ANYBODY, wat is wrong with this idea
what i thnk about this idea
it's the flagship attraction of the park. update it but don't replace itoh, im happy to know u KNOW its a good idea, oh god I mean really calm down, I want a real answer from somebody, ANYBODY, wat is wrong with this idea
ok .. that would be a good reason if it WAS the flagship attraction of the park... nowit's the flagship attraction of the park. update it but don't replace it
well any DHS ride idea, is assuming it's part of a big expansion/re-do including the hat going away. So once the hat goes away. And the only reason why it isn't the flagship attraction anymore is because of a hat in the way, and it needs a big refurb to fill the role that it's supposed to have in the park.ok .. that would be a good reason if it WAS the flagship attraction of the park... now
at the moment its really a tie between ToT, Star Tours, and Toy Story Mania,,, GMR is now hidden behind a giant metal piece of junk and it's really pointless now
it is just disney animation. nothing else. it can't be a great movie ride without all types of film. it's a good idea for animation courtyard or whatever they turn that place into, but just not for Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theater.wat is wrong with this idea
Well it wont be the great movie ride anymore, it'll be "Walt Disney's world of Color" ... and yeah I get what you sayingit is just disney animation. nothing else. it can't be a great movie ride without all types of film. it's a good idea for animation courtyard or whatever they turn that place into, but just not for Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theater.
to rot away?Nothing, because I hope it is left alone
So let's face it, the Great Movie Ride is run down and dated... and so is Hollywood Studios in general
so I have this idea to completely redo GMR (great movie ride) but instead of classic live actions movies I was thinking it could be only Disney animated movies.
The Chinese theater entrance would be replaced by the old Disney Studios building on Hyperion Avenue.
The current ride's track system and majority of it's dividers and walls would stay but the all the scenes would be replaced
The movies I'm thinking of are (in order of appearance in ride)
-Oswald cartoon
-mickey cartoon
-snow white
-fantasia
-Cinderella
-sleeping beauty (maleficent)
-peter pan
-Roger Rabbit
-Little Mermaid
-Beauty and the beast
-Aladdin
-Lion King
-Ty Story
-assorted Pixar movie clips
-recent Disney movie clips
-finale
wat do ya think
ok ok , god, u people all need to calm down! it's an idea! its not reality!!! (which to me I think most of u see blurred anyway) The current attraction resonates with a fading older audience... sure I love the ride, but so many of the films are unfamiliar to guests todayMovie Ride is hardly outdated. It is one of the best attractions in Hollywood Studios.
The Goal isn't to take you into movies you know today (Which is why I Imagine you might be inclined to think it's outdated) but rather to take you into some of the films that have shaped the movie industry. Gangster Films, westerns, Casablanca, the Wizard of Oz, movies today wouldn't be the same without them!
I would be all for updating the animatronics and changing out one or two scenes, but a complete overhaul of the ride would ruin this park for me. It represents the golden age of Hollywood, the Hollywood that never was and always will be, which is why taking out the Chinese Theater, one of Hollywood's most iconic structures would also be a terrible idea. It's beautiful, and magnificent, and the footprints and handprints in front of it give people a kick.
Even if this idea would work you have WAY too many scenes, especially if you want to keep the majority of the current dividing walls and you indicate. Not to mention some of them aren't super relevant to the history of animation (Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Roger Rabbit) all great films, but I'm not sure why you included them.
Disney doesn't have any interest in replacing the Great Movie Ride either. I'm sure many of your know the story of Universal Studios competing with MGM Studios to rush to open. Well in the late nineties with the opening of Islands of Adventure, Disney once again looked into adding some new attractions to their studios park to make it a real contender against this new force of thrill down I-4. After seeing the ridiculous reception of the Spider-Man attraction, and seeing the ridiculous costs of running the Great Movie Ride (Particularly from the Western Scene) a plan was devised to replace GMR and use the existing show building for a new ride with the same technology. Hollywood Studios Management was not happy with this, recognizing the importance of the ride, and devised the current strategy of running only the Gangster show at off-peak times. This strategy cut down costs immensely for movie ride and saved it, and now it has become one of the most memorate attractions at Hollywood Studios, and really the only one that is Audio-Animatronic based, something that we'll probably be seeing less and less of in the future.
Touch movie ride and incur the wrath of all of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
well with all these people against my idea I started thinking about getting rid of Disney Junior Live and building an entire new show building there using my idea, and using art of animation as a post showThe attraction you described sounds like a better idea for replacing the Florida animation studio building. The Magic of Disney Animation is just a depressing spot in the park in that it was the last place they actually made movies in the Studios and it's pretty sad to see where animators used to work.
oh yeah sorry that's wat I meant, I was thinking about art of animation for inspiration for the rideDisney Junior is ridiculously profitable, it doesn't make sense to get rid of that either. Also, I realize that you meant The Magic of Disney Animation, just for future reference, Art of Animation is a Resort.
I am sorry But TGMR IS THE BEST ATTRACTION! not trying to sound annoying. But It would not be the same park without it! Its one of the last things there that doesnt have HEAVY disney themed aspects to it. I would cry if they ever took it away. Those movies are actually very well known. I dont know how much you know about the movie industry or the movies used in the GMR but they are all used for a specific reason. They were all important in each of there genres and big movies. I liked your idea but Not for where the GMR is.ok ok , god, u people all need to calm down! it's an idea! its not reality!!! about the too many scenes and not enough room thing, I went online and found the floor plan for the entire show building. I numbered the scenes on a separate piece of paper and labeled the diagram with my scenes... needless to say, all of my scenes fit
I understand that the ride is a "staple" for the park but the park would do A ok with out it
there are still numerous other attractions at WDW that mainly feature Audio-Animatronics as a main key: Small world, pirates, little mermaid, American adventure, carousel of progress, and many more
im well aware of the movies and all ... but.... is a lack of Disney really a good thingI am sorry But TGMR IS THE BEST ATTRACTION! not trying to sound annoying. ABSOLUTELY!!!....I love that its not all disney. However it does feature mary poppins, fantasia and indiana jones...which technically is part of disney. Its a ride about the movies of hollywood. Not the movies of disneyim well aware of the movies and all ... but.... is a lack of Disney really a good thing
to rot away?
I wasn't questioning, I just wanted someone else opinionA
