Idea for Great Movie Ride Replacement

Singin' in the Rain? Casablanca? Mary Poppins?!

I'm all for updating the animatronics (as has been discussed at great length in multiple threads now) and perhaps even a show scene or two, but the heart of the attraction should remain.
Mary Poppins and Singing in the Rain yes, but Singing in the Rain is aging quickly. I do agree, keep the heart. That great movie celebration feel, the live host. All of that is great, I just think some of the films should change to keep up with today's families.

And Casablanca. Don't forget Casablanca.

Singin in the rain is not aging. It just had its like 70th birthday or something. Its one of the greatest musicals. And I will say it once and only once more. Footlight parade is a very important film. It from the 20's before musicals were really huge. One of the first big ones. Its important to show the time period as well as classics. Sure some of use don't know them but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have them in the ride. Watch them! They are great movies.

Yeh, no. Let's face it, the movie is going to be forgotten once the current generation die off. Only the ending will live on, but I never found it to be that special anyway.
If you have seen it you should care. It has political and historical significance (WWII). It also is a classic story that taught an extremely valuable and universal lesson, and even if people haven't seen it, they should still appreciate it. By the way, your Star Wars idea was intriguing, I just don't think it would fit.

Maybe I should watch it, but I won't. I may sound like another stupid kid from the current generation but I won't make the time to watch it because it looks boring. I have watched classic black and white films in school, and I loved them, but I won't give up my own time because that's the stereotype they hold. Boring. You guys have seen the films so it's very different in your case.

And thanks, I agree the location sucks. I would love a Star Wars dark ride one day but!

Ummm a musical.bacjstage musicals they were called. It starred james cagney and joan blondell, ruby keeler and dick powell. Its great. Plus nobody has the right to say"huh. What is that movie!!!" Because before you go on they show clips previews for each movie in the ride basically. And if you think casablaca wasn't special...you need to learn more about the film industry!

I'm going to make a poll about this in General Discussion, I just want to get some more opinions. I'm interested :)

because the only one that would make sense would be to update and switch out a few scenes! If people sont understand the importance of some of the films already in there well then its a shame, Because they are spectacular! The old time classics of Musical eras are forever gone, we will never get them back to where they were.

Just another thought though. By taking out FOOTLIGHT PARADE..what musical would you put there? I would think It would have to be one considering the first three rooms are so close together and it goes into singing in the rain then to mary Poppins. I think it would seem weird to put like star wars and then go into singin in the rain.

Towards the end it works to go back into oz due to the lighter stories descendin from the horror, to tarzan, to casablanca, to fantasia which in a sense with all the wind almost makes it seem you entered another world. CLever in my opinion!

Disney characters and/or changing some scenes
My challenge then to you is to figure out which ones you would change if you could only change 5 maximum and then what movies would you stick in...and keep a nice flow of theme and genres together.

In terms of changing it to disney themes. NEVER! Im sure most would agree with me there. BUT like I said, the Idea of a ride through all of disneys classics like that is a good idea and deservesa spot, But not in the chinese theater
