Since a lot of us here at wdwmagic are going on this cruise (yes me included beyond excited ) I figured this is a great way for us to discuss our air fares, port adventures or self sight seeing places ect. We could probably all use a place to chat since we have 459 days til our trip.

My husband has already been looking at places we might want to see in Copenhagen before we set sail!! Never mind all the other ports we are going to be at....overloaded already :banghead:!!!

Yay! Let's do discuss. We already decided this is a must for us in Copenhagen:

Tivoli Gardens, a 20-acre garden in the heart of the city. Built in 1843, it was the inspiration for Walt Disney and countless other future amusement park entrepreneurs. Like any amusement park, it has its share of games and rides, but the ride most beloved by children is the merry-go-round made of Viking ships. There is a roller coaster that can take your breath away running at up to 50 mph and a Ferris wheel of hot air balloons during the daytime. At night, the park comes alive with food, beer and music.

I knew I could count on you!!!!

Yes he was reading about the Tivoli Gardens to me why we were driving back home from a quick two night away. I was dying to get home and get on my computer lol. I am going to buy Frommer's guide to both Norway and Iceland. It really helped when we went to Hawaii

As for airfare I have no idea it is to far out to look. I will be leaving from Boston and this June it looks like Iceland Air is the least expensive

Haven't had a chance to to check to much out but I am so excited!!!

we are in room 8002 right where we wanted on the boat!

Do you guys use TAs for these or do you book them yourselves. I'd love this for my 40th birthday!

Airfare is $1400+ to Copenhagen - that plus $4000+ for the cruise is WAY out of this girl's budget :(

For anyone doing the Copenhagen-Dover cruise, I would recommend checking return fares into London and just getting a separate flight London-Copenhagen with a budget airline. Most likely that will come out cheaper.

I can take a train to Copenhagen! But it costs a fortune to fly to Florida.... :arghh:

I used my disney TA who was on hold for 2 1/2 hours until she got through to book. I got exactly what I wanted and this is a 1x cruise in 2015 no guarantee it will happen again in 2016.

Of course! We can talk for the next year! lol

Rick Steeves has a good Northern European cruise book. Side note - the Unofficial Guide is coming out with a Disney cruise guide. It won't have Norway/Iceland in it, but tons of other good info.

I agree. When we flew to Barcelona this summer we wanted to spend a few days in London after. It was much cheaper to book round trip into London and then a cheap flight from London to Barcelona as opposed to two one way tickets. :)

It is absolutely lovely! Make sure that you go on the Rutschebanen which is a roller coaster from 1914.

I'm saving these trips for when my boys are on their own & I only have to pay it x2. Then again, I'll prob'ly be spending all my $$ to be near them... Or on grandchildren... LOL!

Just wait until they can pay their own way. That way you can all go but still only have to pay for 2. Even at 27 and being married for 4 years I still enjoy vacationing with my parents. In planning for Japan this summer and Europe next summer I told my mom that these two trips are probably the last two that my husband and I will be able to enjoy with just the two of us for a long time. Once we have kids I expect her to come along as much as possible.

So I guess my next item on the to do list what hotels to stay at in Copenhagen and when we dock in Dover where to go from there and what to see. Oh boy do I love to plan and this is a OCD planners dream !!!

Soooo what your saying is I am not alone . Looks like pretty much anywhere is good. The city is very compact and looks like it will be great to walk around and see it

You are in very happy crazy OCD planning company :D

Definitely eyeing up the Tivoli Hotel - the themed rooms reminded me instantly of it's a small world! I think my kids would love it!!!
