Ice Cream coming back to Boardwalk

Graeters would be a better fit at WDW than the hyper-premium brands mentioned here IMO. 🤷‍♂️
I know nothing of Salt and Straw to be honest. I do not make it out to CA often so my last trip it didn't exist that I'm aware of. While from what I recall of AH it is closer to Graeters in terms of branding and costs. I still wouldn't want it. There is one a block from our home qnd our equivalent of a 31 flavors or UDF really. We go that often

The original owners from AH are in the process of opening their new shop called "The Social" in Brooklyn NY. Those are the people I want to see return to WDW and they have told me they are open about it again one day.
I wish my work took me closer to Brooklyn. They had wonderful flavors different from what I get at home really with a good texture to the ice cream. I wish them well in the new endeavor for sure.

I on the other hand would be excited to have somewhere to go get my favorite Ohio ice creams again. Throw in UDF Homemade brand and Velvet and Ohio is probably the best ice cream state in the country.

Lol, I get it. We are seriously so spoiled here. Velvet is my grocery store go to brand. The factory is actually not that close for local type visits, but close enough to go once a year, so we plan to visit this summer. Velvet is also at our zoo so when the state fair didn't happen, we went there for animals and ice cream instead. The dairy barn at the fair always served Velvet so tradition to go see the butter cow and get ice cream. As a kid UDF was our go to for ice cream cones. Then Graeters came. Frequent visits to the Velvet factory. That is what I know. I love them all to be fair, but for me the draw would be minor. I would love it if the Edy's on property were replaced with velvet though. I'm too spoiled to ever eat Edy's now lol.

We got great ice cream that's for sure. Fantastic coasters too!

Just put in a Ben & Jerry’s and call it a day. Be authentic.

I have to say, I don't want any supermarket brand ice cream when I am at WDW and paying those prices. I think using Edy's ice cream branding actually cheapens the Main Street Ice Cream shop... Edys is not bad for supermarket ice cream but when you are paying premium for everything, it should be a premium product... I think using a better quality ice cream with no brand would be a better option...and would make it easier to swallow the pricing... Honestly I don't want to see any national chains anywhere as a reminder that "I can get it cheaper at home"... The products sold in the park should be unique...
For the boardwalk they could even do soft serve custard...like they do on the actual boardwalk...simplify but use better quality with no brand attachment... Boardwalk Dairy Ice Cream...Hyperion Creamery...Clarabelle's Custard...all would feel more unique and an easier sell for the $10 ice cream cone.

Plus, it's severely overrated! :D
For the price, I hate to agree. I do like it when I get the small cups that they use for fundraisers and such. Feel less costly to me. The pint cost is even quite a bit high. I wouldn't want to imagine the cost with Disney price hike on top.

You're joking but I'd take a pint of Ben & Jerry's any day of the week over the fancy shmancy premium ice cream places charging a fortune per cup. Every time I see a new flavor announced for Salt & Straw, I think "well that sounds... unappealing" and happily walk over to Black Tap for another CrazyShake. lol

But my Disneyland ice cream go-to is still first and foremost a Mickey Premium ice cream bar. :) It still tastes magical to me - even if it seems like it's a fourth or so smaller than it used to be. lol Ghirardelli's chocolate ice cream at DCA isn't bad either but never tastes any particularly better to me than a good Ben & Jerry's chocolate flavor.
