IASW refurbishment

At the park now and just rode it. It doesn't look like anything was done to fix show issues. If there were, it wasnt noticeable and tons of thing are still broken and filthy. Plenty of non working trim lights (LEDs too, pretty sad) and a number of non moving dolls. Spinning sun was still not spinning and nor were the flying carpets or any of the tightrope vehicles. Surfaces still dirty and some moldy and damaged ceiling panels. Think some dolls might be missing as well.

There was more broken today than a few months ago. Even that hippo people were discussing earlier wasn't winking (both eyes stuck open).

They documented and examined everything that actually needs to be replaced/repaired for the next refurbishment.

A lot of stuff was done. Just not the stuff that needed to be done sadly.

I actually am beginning to wonder if they really are taking some rides down for "refurbishment" just to save money, while doing little to nothing to actually refurb them...

I still think that's too far of a reach though for the record, even i don't think they've gotten THAT pathetic and cheap. As said, probably behind the scenes things being worked on. Doesn't excuse the continued ignoring of show scenes during these closures though.

Though there is some exterior facade work still being done, it's mostly covered in tarps right now.

Back in a bit, after I ride.

The queue looks miles better than it did when I was there in March. Now if only the ride could be as well groomed as the queue (seems like IASW has Little Mermaid syndrome. Great queue, lackluster ride ).

A lot was done. They were in there working around the clock with a large crew. Tons of scaffolding was brought in. The refurb was just not to address show issues unfortunately.

The ride seems lighter and brighter. Some broken things fixed. Some moving props are now static.

The hippo neither winks or blinks. He just stares straight ahead, as a good hippo should.

Assuming these following props used to move, they don't now.

The very final "good bye" in lots of languages was still pretty grubby. Nothing a Dust-buster couldnt fix.

In the pretty tourquoize room, only this balloon went up and down. The other two were fixed in position.
