Trip Report I Will Survive.....Spring Break (with a hint of May) *COMPLETED*

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live among the Spring Break crowds
But then I spent so many nights thinking how I could be wrong
And I grew strong
And I knew I could get along....

Well that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. I’m not a newbie when it comes to navigating Spring Break at WDW. I’ve got a couple decades of experience under my belt. “Spring Break” isn’t a single week of cray cray crowds (like the week between Christmas and New Years) but is spread over March and April. Unfortunately one (or more) of those weeks can end up being cray cray....and these days, there is no way to predict which one.

Please don’t let it be this week.

But we are prepared. ADRs at 180 days. FPs at 60 days. Clothing for rain or shine. (Praying for shine ~ we’ve had enough rain over the last 4 months to set an ark afloat.) And attitudes willing to “go with the flow.” 🐢

My goal is to keep the updates live. Should I fail? There’s always Part “Tu”.

Who: Tuvalu, Woody and Em (the teacher whose schedule dictates when we go)
When: Sunday, March 31 - Sunday, April 7, 2019
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter
Why: Let’s hope we don’t ask ourselves this!
How: We’ve done the plane, can’t take the train....so it must be the automobile!

Will we be smiling at the end of the week? Stay tuned.

And if you don’t hang around for the smiles, you may want to peek in and see if there are any WDWMagic meet ups. I know of at least three forum friends I hope to encounter.

Now it’s off to bed! The alarm is set for zero-dark-thirty.

At Disney Springs we perused Tren-D, Marketplace Co-Op, World of Disney, Uniqlo and Lilly Pulitzer. Saw some fun stuff but purchased nothing.

Fun stuff examples:

A Minnie pet bed! Poly would cozy herself up inside....

....but then Kona would try to enter, she’d smack him in the head and hiss, and soon the fur would be flying.

How many of you millennials watched The Disney Afternoon?

I can still sing the theme songs! (Which, BTW, were ALL better than the Barney theme song...which I can also sing...thank you, toddler Em!)

This one’s for me! (But not for @TheMouseFan. She isn’t a Bears fan.)

This store took lots of Em’s dollars.

She purchased the just-released Disney pattern tote bag. And a lanyard. Both for school. Think she can deduct them as business expenses? :joyfull:

Since we were closer to the bus stop than boat dock, we used this as transportation back to POFQ.

Thus ends our day. Happy April Fools and thanks for reading along!
"I love you, you love me" oh that Barney song, stuck in my head now and on a loop. I have my 27year old daughter to thank for that too lol.

Ride pic didn’t show up.

Can't wait to see your pic from The Haunted Mansion (new ride photo as of today)

We were in John Adams’ room.

Sit down, John, you... (Hamilton reference which I will not finish on this family friendly forum)

Three of the number 1 seeds go down
Thanks for the reminder @amjt660 😢

Arrival time keeps getting later and later....not pleased with the morning bus service here.

Don't they share with Riverside in the morning? Or is that old information?

This millennial LOVED Disney Afternoon!! Darkwing Duck was my favorite! "I am the terror that flaps in the night, I am the surcharge that triples your bill! I am Darkwing Duck!" :inlove: Anyway, I'm following! Glad you're having fun! I'm there in five days!!

Waiting for Woody and Em to ride in a very fast car.

But instead of Aerosmith songs playing in the courtyard, it’s JOURNEY songs!! I am content to sit right here for awhile. And I’m on a bench!!

Not this one obviously. I am not invisible.

Backing the truck up a little bit.....

Making our way to the entrance of DHS.

The gondolas are running though I did not take a picture. Em and I saw a yellow gondola (through the wrap) of Pooh and Piglet. :inlove:

Lots of security screeners working and we were checked in less than 5 minutes. Guessing they are preparing for the opening of SW:GE.

Non-Passholders held up the Passholder tapstile. And it took 2 or 3 tries for Woody to get a green Mickey head.

Whose that lady?

(Confess Boomers: How many of you are humming the Isley Brothers song now?)

Bonjour Village Gifts yesterday.
Keystone Clothiers today.
Em is not a happy camper.

Destination: Toy Story Land

“Where are all the people?”

Not here. In fact the common area is uncharacteristically not crowded.

361003

Em would like the Pixar ball for her classroom....
361004

....until she thought of what third graders would do with/to the ball.

First FP attraction? Not Slinky Dog Dash. This is only Day 3 of our trip. SDD FPs were gone on our booking day.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is a perfect family show. Action packed, audience participatory, funny and a perfect length....neither too long or two short.

Young kids will probably want to see the show more than once. The Lightning animatronic is quite impressive!

Smokin’!

Also it’s a good place to get out of the rain or out of the heat...I’m sure an a/c break will be most welcome in summer!
