Trip Report I Was LIVE - creating some new Disney memories

Why heelloooo there (said in the voice of the dinosaur puppet at the video before the Dinosuar ride in Animal Kingdom) -You've all just done the voice haven't you? I know you have. Don't deny it. I know if you didn't, you are now going back to do it!

Anyhow, it's those little things that have kept me going whilst waiting for this trip, which is now almost here, and I'm guessing you are here as you fancied a bit of Disney magic too - well I can't say I blame you I would do exactly the same thing if I were where you are right now.

I absolutely LOVE Disney, i could literally talk about it forever and I mean forever!
I check the Disney news every day and if someone is willing to talk about Disney who am I not to join in.

Prior to this trip I've kept myself amused making window decorations and a countdown and reading @Tuvalu & @Doc Disney trip reports which as you know come quite frequently. I've also passed the last year watching Jo & Ashley SRYS on you tube until they announced no more videos for a while which literally crushed my Wednesday and Sunday's. :(
I met them last year but they now have a family to plan for so I fully understand - but these days of the week just aren't the same anymore.

So who am I?
I'm Tracey, As I've already said Disney obsessed, want to live in Cinderella castle (who wouldn't? - why won't they let me? ) etc etc.
Myself and my husband Chris are off to Disney for 14 days from tomorrow - yes tomorrow - flying from the UK and arriving around 5pm
This will be our 20th, 2 week plus holiday here (once in 1996 and then every year since 1998) we rack up 297 days in POR during this trip. As those of you who have read my previous reports will know I absolutely LOVE this resort and will get to a whole year of my life here.
It's my 2nd home, as soon as I arrive I beam with happiness and normally cry at actually being there, not just looking at those pictures on my iPad.

Here I am in 2015 - this is one of my favourite photos from last year.

image.jpeg

This year my brother Mark and his wife Claire join us. They were meant to join us last year but it had to be postponed but this year we will all be together.
It's their first year staying in a Disney resort so I hope they love Riverside as much as me. My brother has been to Disney 4 times before & his wife 3 times but they have never stayed in Disney. They are in for a real treat!

My brother and I get on so well together so I think this will be another holiday packed full of great memories.

So what else is planned?
Lots of ice cream - those of you have read my reports before will know that I have to have an ice cream a day when on holiday - more if I can :)
We have a keys to the Kingdom tour booked. Myself and Chris did this in 2013 but have booked again so Mark & Claire can do it too
And I have a meet up with Nicole, @prfctlyximprct Megan @Doc Disney planned. Well we were all there the same time so we couldn't miss the opportunity to meet so have formally planned it so we didn't miss each other. (@LisaBelle we will miss you - I take it the lottery numbers didn't come up)

Ice cream pictures from previous years

Tonight we are headed to the airport to stay overnight before our flight at 11.40am tomorrow,
I just couldn't imagine getting in the car on Friday morning, getting caught in a traffic jam and missing my flight - that would be unbearable and something I simply won't let happen, so a hotel room for tonight it is.
We'll meet my brother and sister in law at the hotel and we will probably have a drink in the pub before going to bed.

So for the time being I will get back to packing the final bits and will update in the morning if I can get wi fi at the hotel/airport or you'll get an update when I get home to POR.

BTW I am having problems uploading any photos so this could all go horribly wrong (had internet problems here for days now) - but I'll hopefully be able to get that sorted in Disney - if not this will be the shortest trip report in history!

OMG the countdown that started at 350 odd days is nearly at 1 - I am nearly home in my Disney bubble.

Eeekkkkkk.

We didn't know Chris was a thrill/rollercoaster rider? Roger loves that stuff, not me. He's going to ride RipRocket at Universal this time, without me!!!! He loves the Hulk and road it 3 times in a row with our grandson, Luke, one time:)
I agree with your brother about Forbidden Journey. I got sick on that one and was dizzy and nauseated for a while after, so can sympathize. Sounds like a great time at Universal. We are staying onsite this time for one night to get free express passes, at the Royal Pacific. Can't wait for more trip report!

Not making me sad at all - just wishing I was there. But at least I can look forward to going again sometime in the future. Love the photos and will be keeping up to date with you day by day.

The dragons are the Hungarian Horntail and Chinese Fireball! I loved that ride!!! I cannot believe it was only a five minute wait!!!! Joe and I rode both! Thank you again for the ride over!! :)

Hope you had a fab day and your welcome re the lift we were going that way anyway and Claire and I finally got to ride in the kiddie seats :)

I was thinking the same thing. When I was there last week, they were still not working.

Obviously I didn't know they were working so great I could confirm for you and @Tuvalu

Loving your report! Can't wait to read more.

Thank you

Sorry I wouldn't want anyone sad - hope it's not too cold in the UK

Tuesday 8th November

So today was another Magic Kingdom day. Woooo hoo - you can never get too much MK

We decided last night to go it alone today, so Chris and I were back on our own.

We left early to catch the welcome show, there were a lot of people waiting to get in and we ended to the far right through the turnstiles.
Would you credit it we ended up right behind my brother - what are the chances with all those people?

Anyhow, they were headed to the Indy speedway and we were headed to Winnie the Pooh before the crowds started to get bad. So we waved goodbye and we're off.

Once off WTP we were headed to Indy speedway and obviously saw my brother

image.jpeg

They got off and we waited our turn - would you credit it we ended up in the very same yellow number 71 car!

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

So off we went on our little convertible car ride in the sunshine.

I ran back to the room this morning to get a cardigan but I didn't need it so it spent all day round my neck!

So glad that you ladies got to meet up! Its so cool seeing pictures of you guys together. I love your window decorating at your resort. I never thought to do that. I love the idea!

That was also extremely nice of you to offer Nicole and her bf a ride to Universal. I don't know if she's reading, but just because she didn't have a ring yet doesn't mean that there still isn't time! :p

My brother had waited for us so we headed to buzz together.

Myself and brother are a bit competitive of each other in a good way so obviously he wanted to beat me but that was never going to happen - doesn't he realise I come every year and can max out at 999'999 if I want to. :)

Anyhow he lost and we separated again and went our own ways

Next stop HM

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

From here we were headed to Voyage of the little mermaid.

I wonder how many people know there is an interactive queue?
Most stand with screaming children who they could keep amused for a little while with this

image.jpeg

Next stop Dumbo with our first fast pass

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

We were then off to 7DMT, the cast member got caught up and a few people in the queue just "tapped in" themselves

As it turns out we probably could have got in without tapping and just gone round again but we are honest folk! Last year this was a double tap to check everyone did have a fast pass but most rides seem to have 2nd tap stations closed.

image.jpeg

So by 11.30am we had done 7 rides - not too bad as the park did seem pretty busy.

Yes it was lovely to meet them both, my trip reporting started because of Nicole!
And glad you like my window. It passed some days before we left to come out here.
And there is time for that proposal - I've told her I think it's the last night when she is at the contemporary for dinner watching the fireworks! - let's see.

We stopped for lunch in a very crowded Columbia Harbour house

And then decided to give POTC a try.
Last year we had ridden in the front row and ended up soaked. Well our trainers anyway as evidenced by the photo in last years trip report.

This time Chris went on prepared and removed his socks!

Anyhow we were put in row 6 and got off without a splash......

Silly photo on the way out!

image.jpeg

Chris decided to see of he could do a magic shot - epic fail

image.jpeg

And then ice cream time!

We then all met up to go to have a chat with Mickey!

He said that the UK was a hop, skip and a jump away from Orlando. If only!

We are now headed to Disney springs to collect our free vouchers that we got for booking our holiday with so much notice

Now what to spend it on?.................

We are back from Disney springs
The voucher has been collected but not spent yet!
We didn't really look around much as we are saving that for another day but boy has it changed since last November!

We returned to drop the youngsters off as they were tired (yes he's my younger brother!). I know I look younger than him but Disney keeps me young. He just needs a bit more of it to help him along....... Good job he isn't reading this! :p

Anyhow it was 8.45pm so there was only once place to get to quickly - Epcot for the fireworks.

We knew we wouldn't make it into the park and didn't really want to contend with crowds so we were going to sit and watch from the car.

image.jpeg

Hello spaceship earth.

There is something about this that also makes me smile - it's an icon I love.

It was near to 9pm so I opened the window to listen and watch.
Chris had got out of the car and I hadn't realised but he all of a sudden appeared at my window and said "good evening we are gathered etc...... " in a voice not dissimilar to that at the start of Illuminations.

I have turned him into a Disney freak. :)

We hummed along to the music (which by the way we couldn't hear as the wind wasn't blowing which normally makes the sound travel - we only know this as we have sat in the car and done this before) but we do obviously know how it goes.

We watched with smiles on our faces.

This was the end to a fun day.

Tomorrow is currently undecided. It will be HS as we have fast passes but not sure on AK or shopping AM - I also want to catch the AK projection at some point and if we don't do Wishes tomorrow it will be next week I think as there are MVMCP nights a lot in the next few days.

We will see.
Goodnight - more tomorrow

You've got to see the Tree Awakenings (or whatever it's called) at AK. I believe there are about 4 different shows that they do randomly throughout the night. It's amazing what they can do with this technology!!

Wednesday 9th November

Well today was meant to be AK, HS and MK for fireworks - this plan pretty much went out of the window today.

We decided to go to Epcot first thing to queue test track and Soarin and then to spend some time there before heading to HS for fast passes.
The parks were busy so we decided to give MK a miss in the hope after Jersey week things calm down and we will go next week.

So let's start at this morning, we were arming in Epcot parking lot around 8.15am and were entering the park shortly after 9am. I presumed there wou,d be a holding point somewhere as official opening time was 9am but they just let us go ahead and join a queue for Test track.

Obviously this meant the competitive streak was out again for my brother.
His car was all about power. Chris and I were just adding bits here and there just being silly!

Here is our car (sorry for the blurry picture)

image.jpeg

Here is my brothers

image.jpeg

And we're off

image.jpeg

And this is my normal view during the fast bit!

image.jpeg

Great gy dog look........ Maybe I should change my hair style

We got off test track shortly after 9.05am very satisfied with ourselves.

Off to Soarin we went, when we arrived it was a 25min wait, so on we went.

We loved the new version. Glad they kept Patrick for the pre safety check video. :D

The land was showing a 10 min wait do whilst we were there we did this too.
This ride is so educational, it may not be a thrill ride but I do like it.

image.jpeg

I notice the alligator tank is now covered and just has a sign saying under renovation.

We hopped into the short queue for the Pixar film festival.
The first film was very cleverly done. I think that was our favourite.

We stopped to take this picture as I have one in the same spot from our very first trip, when we get back to the UK I am going to compare them to see how much I've changed.

image.jpeg

We then stopped for lunch and took a walk over to Boardwalk and then took a boat to HS.

First stop was TSMM - a win for me and best in vehicles.

Then - Coke float time for me.

image.jpeg

My brother however had found this!
This so far is the most expensive snack we have found at $8.19
He's trying to keep up with me and my ice cream/dessert challenge

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

And after this dessert Chris and Mark decided to ride TOT.

We stopped for photos outside, and this is where we encountered a very rude man.
He just stopped right at the entrance to the ride and his friend stopped in front of the sign. He was asked to move and he just said no I am staying here.
He was in a wheelchair and obviously thought he was far superior to anyone else.
I thought he hadn't realised we were with a photo pass photographer, but I think he was just miserable. His son (I presume) turned up and he just started moaning to him and his son was saying "what these people"
Now we were all there first and I am sorry but he was a very miserable man.
We just walked away and the Disney cast member dealt with him
We would all have said something we might regret.

He's just lucky I didn't see him coming down the street as I would have stopped in front of him and just done what he did to us and would have said I wasn't moving!

This is the photo before the commotion started.....

image.jpeg

From here we headed to muppets - I haven't done this in years but my sister in law wanted to do it so we fitted it in before getting a bus back to Epcot to pick up the car.

We've just returned from a quick trip to some factory outlets and all returned having not spent a penny.
Whilst some things are cheaper the exchange rate to the pound means someof those bargains we used to get are no longer bargains.

Tomorrow Chris is going golf, And Claire is working until lunch time so my brother and I are going to do something together although as of yet we don't know..........

Thursday 10th November

So today my brother and I were on our own for the morning (Claire was working and Chris was playing golf)

Obviously we were going here......

image.jpeg

First stop buzz light year.

The wait was 5 mins so we went round 3 times so I could show him how to max out on the score - yes I did share the secrets.

On our third time round this happened.

image.jpeg

I had one very happy brother

From here we ended up on IASW - i don't think Chris or Claire will be disappointed we did this without them.

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

We then went to HM and Pirates, hoorah we didn't get wet.
We went to Little Mermaid so I could sing (mainly) and then onto TTA

image.jpeg

8 rides done it was 12 noon and we were headed back home to Riverside to Meet Claire and Chris

We are now headed to Epcot for a wander and a few rides in the sun........
