Trip Report I Was LIVE - creating some new Disney memories

Why heelloooo there (said in the voice of the dinosaur puppet at the video before the Dinosuar ride in Animal Kingdom) -You've all just done the voice haven't you? I know you have. Don't deny it. I know if you didn't, you are now going back to do it!

Anyhow, it's those little things that have kept me going whilst waiting for this trip, which is now almost here, and I'm guessing you are here as you fancied a bit of Disney magic too - well I can't say I blame you I would do exactly the same thing if I were where you are right now.

I absolutely LOVE Disney, i could literally talk about it forever and I mean forever!
I check the Disney news every day and if someone is willing to talk about Disney who am I not to join in.

Prior to this trip I've kept myself amused making window decorations and a countdown and reading @Tuvalu & @Doc Disney trip reports which as you know come quite frequently. I've also passed the last year watching Jo & Ashley SRYS on you tube until they announced no more videos for a while which literally crushed my Wednesday and Sunday's. :(
I met them last year but they now have a family to plan for so I fully understand - but these days of the week just aren't the same anymore.

So who am I?
I'm Tracey, As I've already said Disney obsessed, want to live in Cinderella castle (who wouldn't? - why won't they let me? ) etc etc.
Myself and my husband Chris are off to Disney for 14 days from tomorrow - yes tomorrow - flying from the UK and arriving around 5pm
This will be our 20th, 2 week plus holiday here (once in 1996 and then every year since 1998) we rack up 297 days in POR during this trip. As those of you who have read my previous reports will know I absolutely LOVE this resort and will get to a whole year of my life here.
It's my 2nd home, as soon as I arrive I beam with happiness and normally cry at actually being there, not just looking at those pictures on my iPad.

Here I am in 2015 - this is one of my favourite photos from last year.

This year my brother Mark and his wife Claire join us. They were meant to join us last year but it had to be postponed but this year we will all be together.
It's their first year staying in a Disney resort so I hope they love Riverside as much as me. My brother has been to Disney 4 times before & his wife 3 times but they have never stayed in Disney. They are in for a real treat!

My brother and I get on so well together so I think this will be another holiday packed full of great memories.

So what else is planned?
Lots of ice cream - those of you have read my reports before will know that I have to have an ice cream a day when on holiday - more if I can :)
We have a keys to the Kingdom tour booked. Myself and Chris did this in 2013 but have booked again so Mark & Claire can do it too
And I have a meet up with Nicole, @prfctlyximprct Megan @Doc Disney planned. Well we were all there the same time so we couldn't miss the opportunity to meet so have formally planned it so we didn't miss each other. (@LisaBelle we will miss you - I take it the lottery numbers didn't come up)

Tonight we are headed to the airport to stay overnight before our flight at 11.40am tomorrow,
I just couldn't imagine getting in the car on Friday morning, getting caught in a traffic jam and missing my flight - that would be unbearable and something I simply won't let happen, so a hotel room for tonight it is.
We'll meet my brother and sister in law at the hotel and we will probably have a drink in the pub before going to bed.

So for the time being I will get back to packing the final bits and will update in the morning if I can get wi fi at the hotel/airport or you'll get an update when I get home to POR.

BTW I am having problems uploading any photos so this could all go horribly wrong (had internet problems here for days now) - but I'll hopefully be able to get that sorted in Disney - if not this will be the shortest trip report in history!

OMG the countdown that started at 350 odd days is nearly at 1 - I am nearly home in my Disney bubble.

Eeekkkkkk.

So sorry you met up with that rude person. It only takes one of "those" to ruin your fun. But I know you had a great time anyway after that. I wanted to know if the mugs with handles are back? I noticed you all had mugs with handles in one picture earlier? Following along and wishing:)

Thursday 10th cont.......

Ok so back to today, we were headed to Epcot but first some lunch.
We stopped via the food court for sandwiches for everyone else but I was happy with........

image.jpeg

Who needs food when you can have ice cream. :D
I know it's just ice cream with squirty cream but - the sprinkles - Mickey ones at that just make it taste better.

After lunch we hopped in the car to Epcot.

We parked and although the walk wasn't far decided we were getting on the tram - driver we are all clear - beep beep - this saying is used a lot in every day life if we are in the car together! Like I say it's the little things.

Chris decided to ruin the tram selfie...

image.jpeg

Put your tongue away Chris....

We stopped briefly at the pins, I have quite a huge collection of these with quite a few limited editions. No new purchases today though.

image.jpeg

We then popped to see Nemo & figment and had a test photo done like the ones at the end of the Star Wars ride where you can be Luke sky walker etc. Obviously we did something different. I have forgotten to go back and butmy it so may go and get something before we leave - let's see.

My brother then wanted to go to club cool.
I still remember when you had to go through an ice cave to enter - not sure if anyone else remembers that from way back?

Quite clearly we didn't tell them not to have Beverly - was that mean?
Well we can't tell them everything but Claire wasn't impressed. ;)

image.jpeg

Then off to Soarin we went - Claire was still trying to clear the taste from her mouth
Just as Chris set up the photo, the guy came and asked us to "pull the yellow strap" - oops we were no longer looking at the camera.

image.jpeg

After this we were heading to the World showcase to Head to the countries and To get a Duffy to get stamped and to colour in.

This was fun.

Hi Ruth yes we have all got mugs with handles. There are more without handles but we saw these so just grabbed them quickly.

I remember Club Cool and the ice cave - so much more fun, plus I actually know someone who likes Beverly - STRANGE!!!!! We love going in there to cool down when its hot, and brought a couple of glasses last time we visited and they travelled back to the UK with no mishaps and are used frequently.

I love the facty that you have ice-cream whatever the meal - sounds like something my DH and son would do too!

Beverly is good if you sip it. If you down it like a shot or chug like a Coke, you will want to puke.

That ice cave was quite small but very novel - we liked it.
We had Beverly last year and felt the effects for a while but we can't force our holiday on others, they have to find out things for themselves.

definitely remember the ice cave....miss that

It's funny my mum has been to Disney once in 1999 and that's what she remembers

I'm not sure I will convince them to try again now but thanks for the tip

I like Beverly!

I guess some people will as we all have different tastes.

@Longers I am enjoying your report! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for reading. At least I know all this updating is being read by someone :)

Friday 11th November

Happy Veterans Day.

So we planned to meet for breakfast at 7.20 this morning - that went a bit array as I was lying in bed (iPad and Fitbit being charged - so not next to me). And thinking it must be getting on and then Chris stirred - when I asked what the time was it was 7.10am - whoops how did that happen?

We did, however managed to have a shower, breakfast and drive to Universal to be there for 8.35am

image.jpeg

We decided to go to Islands first to ride Kong given its new, however when we entered and checked the wait times it was showing that it was closed.

So Chris and Claire instead rode hulk. Chris missed this last year as it was closed.

We were walking in the direction of Kong when the wait time changed to 30 mins, so we joined the queue ((even though the staff were saying it was not operational yet)
At exactly 30 mins we were loaded on the ride, but it didn't move for a further 7 odd minutes but then we were off.
It it a very well done ride, I had not looked at any videos before leaving and was glad as I think that would have spoilt it.

From here we headed to Hogwarts, it was a beautiful sunny day up in the 80's - look at that blue sky.

We then took the Hogwarts express back to London

We went in a few shops and took this photo on the way

image.jpeg

The Xmas decorations are up - in my opinion this is way too early! - sorry just my opinion....

image.jpeg

We left Universal at 1.30 as it was quite busy - there were no lockers available in order to ride Gringotts etc so we have decided to try to go back on Monday to do a few rides we want to do again.

image.jpeg

We took a quick 1.5 hour trip to the Prime outlets - yes we really can shop that quickly.
The value for money with the US$ to the pound is not what it used to be.
I did get some sliders for my magic band for $1.99 though so I don't know why they are so expensive in the park (well I do rea.lly but I am sure you know what I'm saying)

Soon we were driving through here

image.jpeg

We headed straight to HS as we had a TSMM fast pass.
Chris actually beat me (mainly as my hand hurt at the end and I stopped - but beat me he did!). He was whooping and really pleased with himself - when the best in car scores came up though, he had been beaten by someone in green or yellow (the same colours as us so that was either my brother or his wife)

My brother had won! - Chris's excitement had been squashed, however he was still pleased he had finally beat me.

We had planned to stay at HS for Fantasmic but Claire was not feeling great so we decided rather than her having to sit for ages we would go to AK and see the tree awakening

Chris took these photos as we left HS

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

AK was very busy - I have never been there beyond 4pm on any night but the show was great, I think we saw all 4

We did love the bits in between though where the animals just move on the tree. That was pretty special.

I couldn't get a decent picture - will check my brothers at some point to see if he has any good ones - in the meantime here is a blurry one....

Since we've been home we have done some washing and got ourselves ready for an early start tomorrow we have KTTK tour booked at MK starting at 8am and if I have a chance to be in MK before the crowds I am going to take it!

Today was insanely busy! I looked for you at Hollywood Studios... I honestly think it was more crowded today than any day in August!

It was busy in Universal, Maybe because of Veterans Day or just the start of the weekend?
The dragons were 5 mins but went up to 15 - we thought a Friday would be quieter there - we were wrong!
HS and AK looked really busy too though.

Your SIL's face trying the Beverly though wasn't too bad. I dragged my family in there on our last trip. My brother sensed something was up so he refused to try. The pictures I got of my Mom and Dad were priceless though! A few days later we dragged my sister and her bf in there and made them try it. They claimed it wasn't bad, so I was kind of disappointed. I'm smart enough to never have tried it.

Sounds like you guys had very busy days! Glad to see you go a lot done! Can't wait to hear about the KTTK tour.
