I think the best time to be in a WDW park is when it is raining!

The rain was bad for several days in August 2008 just like being at home:ROFLOL:We did the wishes cruise and it was heavy non stop rain but we had a good laugh hope the weather is good this year booked for August 12th.

Not long to go now 3 weeks of magic can't wait.

A few years back when it rained all you see was a sea of yellow Mickey ponchos.
Then they changed to the clear ones so people could identify each other.

Well, We just got back from our trip and I used to agree with you, but not this time. We had multiple days of DOWNPOURS and storms that lasted several hours. Not fun. We lost 4 hours of AK due to the storms. All of the major attractions were down. We got in line for the NEMO show and were lucky enough to weather some of it in there. But it did cause the Parade to be cancelled(It's our favorite of the daytime parades), which sucked.

At Epcot, we got poured on and had to stand under cover in the Japan Pavilion for a long time as well. It was raining buckets. No way you could go out and wander around. The standing water was well over an inch deep any step you took. The poncho's were fine, but a constant downpour on your head is no fun.

We also got rained on at DHS, but it didn't have the same impact. It was lighter and most of those attractions are inside. Luckily, the rain made them cancel BPB that day.

We love rainy days in Disney. I can think of several times when there has been downpoors, and they happen to be some of our greatest memories. When it rains in Florida, at least for most of the year, it feels like warm bath water. We just put on our ponchos and waterproof sandals and start booking it from ride to ride! Parks clear out!

I think a distinction could be made between light showers and an absolute bull frog floating, gully washer downpour.
The light rain clears the parks and lets those who remain have much less crowds.
The heavy stuff brings things to a halt.

I love the smell of rain on a warm day and i love when people are running because they think an asteroid is coming at them.

I agree with this and one of my greatest memories is about 4 years ago and we were at Epcot about to leave, but then it starts to pour and I mean pour so we see everyone leave, but we decide to saty inside the Mouse Gear store which is right near Mission Space which was empty. So when the rain dyes down a little my dad, sister,, and I go on Mission Space about 10 times in a row before the storm became worse and with thunder and lighting we decided to leave, but it was one of the greatest memories I have of WDW.

Two years ago, My mom and I were in Epcot when it started pouring. We ducked into the Canada pavilion and watched the movie. When we came out, it was desolate. We had a great time, wandering in and out of stores with no one around. To top off the evening, we each had our own bench to spread out and rest our legs to watch RoE. It was an awesome evening.

The rain does a good job clearing the parks, but I learned that the cold does too. I was at the World in January for this year's 'cold snap' (20's and 30' at night, 30's and 40's during the day, which actually is really cold for central Florida) and the cold, combined with the relatively 'low season' really cleared things out - most attractions were walk-on, and I loved it!

My husband and I were there the first week of January. It was very cold, but I loved it anyway. And there was no one around in the evening time. We got good sets for Illuminations, it was nice not to have to look over people to see the show.

The best day I think me and my brother ever had at the Parks was a day or two after Hurricane Irene in Oct '99. We went to the MK and it was pouring most of the day. This also was when the parks were open later during the week before 9/11 and the park hours were scaled back. We were there from 10a until close at 11p and although we were soaked and our shoes sloshed we walked on to almost every ride and rode most rides at least 3-4 times. We had such a blast and enjoyed ourself and talk about how sometimes we wish it would rain like that all time while we are there.
