Reading "Guyland" by Michael Kimmel for Gender Relations.. I'm kind of disturbed? Anyone else read this?

Only just starting, but thus far I am losing some serious faith in males aged 16-26.

^ Sean (Goof), I am almost certain I had your boat once. Don't know why, but I am certain... :lookaroun

Just read this Yahoo article about the Chilean earthquake.

Apparently, the quake shifted Earth's axis by 3 inches, and therefore, we lost about 1.26 milliseconds in a day.

The horror of losing precious sleep time!:lol:

Where did it go? Did we lose it and somebody else gain it? Or did everybody's day get shorter? That would mean that the earth actually sped up.

That's what happened. We had a whooooole talk about that in Physics/Astronomy today.

Evening, everyone!

Interesting. I wonder how long this "change" will stay in place. Is it an evolutionary change of something that in a couple of years will correct itself.

Where's Steven Hawking when you need him?

Meh, that's progress. Not happy with it at all either, since that's also my age group ; I do not find it "cool" to be that type of jerk...

Not only the jerk-dom, but also the train of thought that seems to be prevalent. It seems like most of the material we read for this class is biased, and this book is no exception, but a lot of the ideas seem pretty concrete. In no way does it describe ALL males in that age group, I'm compeletely 100% aware of that, in part because all my guy friends (including my boyfriend), definitely break the 'Guyland' mold.. it's just not very uplifting.

And I hate being forced to read biased stuff when I don't wanna.

Boo(b).

Over the weekend I have endured having a friend get admitted into the hospital with swelling and bleeding of the brain. He doesn't recognize anyone and is thrashing around trying to rip everything off of him. It doesn't look good.

I have also ____________ up my relationship with one of my roommates. Since the incident she has turned her friends, who are also my friends, against me.

I don't know how I'll make it through the next 75 days. FML.

You should read The Average American Male by Chad Kultgen.
