I heart my DS

Anybody out there have a DS? I Love it...sure it may not be as "sophisticated" as the PSP...but, I've gotta tell ya...when it comes down to just all around "fun"...the DS is the way to go!

Mario Kart DS is probably the best video game I've ever played (I don't care so much about graphics, complexity, and how much a game "brings you into it"). I like games that you can just pick up and play for 10-15minutes at a time, have a blast and put it down.

I only have Mario Kart DS and Madden '06 right now (Madden is just "eh" but every other game I've played for it (Sonic Rush, Pac n Roll, Metroid Prime Pinball, Tiger Woods, and Narnia) have been all really REALLY fun.

So, chime in and tell us about your portable system...Any games that anybody recommends (PSP, GBA, or DS)?

Heya Bri! Long time no see

Not yet :lookaroun

Nintendo DS (Dual Screen).

Oh, nothing really going on, just found out that my girlfriend, for Valentine's Day, is bringing me to WDW for the weekend so I can be there for the previews of Everest :)

Work has been super hectic and really stressful as of late...well, for the past 6 months or so now, but other than that...everything's going really great! How 'bout you?

You know, 5 days ago, I'd have no idea what a "DS" was, but, with Ryan's recomendation, Linda just bought one and ordered solitaire, tetris, and a few other old fashioned games.

She's always playing stuff like that on her Palm, and she figured it would make more sense to get something designed to just play games.

Gary, stay away from Mario Kart...it's way too addictive

Hey there Christy!

I miss you guys so much, I just have zero time with work lately. (That's the reason why a little getaway to the World is in order for next weekend).

The LAST thing I need is to get addicted to yet another version of Mario Kart. I've been on the patch for a year and a half and don't want to fall off the wagon.

Hmmmm, what's new with me... I'm a big fat cow and in 8 weeks I'll hopefully drop quite a few pounds! :king:

Yeah, it's been stressful here too. In fact the worst part is I can't even schedule a trip to Disney World because I've got a bunch of things I have to be available for, and I don't want to have to cancel.

I am looking forward to a trip I'll be taking next week to work on a secret project that I won't be able to tell you about until July 2007, so that should be cool.

I can't give you any real details, but I'll send you a PM to give you an idea what it is. I think you and Andy might find it interesting.;)

Nintendo DS is awsome. I got a blue one for Christmas and have not been able to put it down, its just so much fun. The games I got are "Super Mario 64 DS", "Sonic Rush", and of course "MarioKart DS". Out of all of them, I have played MarioKart the most, especially online. Pretty fun stuff and pretty addicting. I am hoping to get Kirby, Nintendogs, and WarioWare Touched! soon, the touch screen adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay for these games.

Wow I was coming in here to start this very same thread!!! lol

I got one for xmas. I have yet to put it down. I was on a Mario Kart binge until I got Animal Crossing: Wild World. You'll need to have an intervention to get me off this one!!

Anyone play MKDS on line?? I don't yet. I'm hoping to get the WiFi USB thingy soon. We should have a WDW Magic racing league!!

I have to agree with you on the whoel graphics deal. What Nintendo lacks in "realism" they make up for in innovative and fun games and consoles. I'm a Mario groupie until the day my thumbs fall off!!!

My kids both have GBA's. I thought about the DS, but went with the GBA instead. I've never played it, so I can't say what I actually think about it. lol

Good to see you Bri.

Now how could you make a decision like that without actually playing both the DS and GBA?! Every parent should know it is their RESPONSIBILITY to thoroughly play with and enjoy their childrens toys/video games before giving them to said children. ;)

I'm really tempted, but I'm going to wait and see if the DS:SP rumours come true.

I wouldn't count on it...soon. DS sales are soaring and don't forget it's only been out for just over a year. Not to mention the "Revolution" is due out this spring/summer. I don' think we'll see a new DS for a good 3 to 4 more years. The game library for the DS is still relatively skimpy as well. Game developers have lots of ideas on the table for the dual screen technology...so there is still ALOT to come for this handheld!!! :D

Pinkrose, it's good to hear you check their PS2 periodically to make sure it's in working order. ;)
