Will this thread ever die?
:brick:

Something confuses me - if you don't like a thread, why read it and complain. Just ignore it. No one forces the thread on you.

I find the thread hilarious. 2 years later and it is still going strong. Beware of the wrath of a Disney-fan scorned.

Well, I should have been in bed a looong time ago, but I just HAD to see what this post was about and am I ever glad I did. Before I knew it, I had read all 40 pages and had MANY LOL moments. I actualy had the same experience with a different vendor at last year F&GF, but this one is much better. I've passed by this stand many times in the last few years, but I will be stopping for a howdy next month for sure. Too funny!

MKT, you should definatly get me some of those videos that you planned on taking. when i was a CM, i was oblivious to their shinanigans, i was always curious as to why they had those bizarre signs posted at that both whnever i was on my way to my location. and now i have met the people responsible! GOOD JOB! they got wat they deserved, and by Disney standards, they should not be in Cast Members right now, they are so bogus with their attitude towards guests. maybe you can get away with that at a county fair, but not at DISNEY WORLD!

Man, I remember when this started. In fact, I think I have a post somewhere back a long ways. It'll be interesting to see who's out there this year. If I see someone I think is from this website criticing this vendor, I'll be sure to say Hi!

sorry I didn't reply to your PM... browser issues. Anywho, I have them on my website somewhere... it'll take me some searching to get them, and at 4am, I won't do it right now.. lol.

I'll look for them later this evening and post them then.

Just a rant...

Has anyone informed our bright friends:hammer: that they've plastered their website with pictures of their products. Do they think that we can't get the general idea of how they are made? I'd find it funnier if someone went up with a small notebook and made some sketches of the plant holders. Unless they've added the "No sketching/drawing" Sign as well. We're at a place were people have recreated civilizations and animatronics and rides of fantasy, but yet they don't think that someones not going to replicate a $4 piece of wood just by looking at it?
:king: Keep the dream (thread) alive. I'll be there May 10, maybe I'll come back with some sketches.....Someone needs to tell that lady that Roseanne called and she has the copyright to that look from the 80's.

I needed a laugh tonight. Thanks.

Someone needs to go up to this guys stand and tell him they are the official plant stand inspector and he doesnt comply with current regulation and then site some local BS code and whip out a little fake code book.

Wow... uber thread... it's immune... but here's my 2 years 2 late 2 cents...

This happens all the time at art shows... which is similar to what F&G is... If you were a vendor, would you want somebody taking pics of your painting so they could go have it duplicated and then you lose out? The guy had the same problem... although there's no "law" about it because on Disney property, even though it is private, you can pretty much take pictures all you want unless noted... but just for future reference, to avoid altercations, don't take pics of people's works without asking permission... for all he knew, you were going to steal his idea and recreate his hardwork on your own, then he'd lose money... remember, he was paying to have that booth set up to sell his stuff, not have people take pics of it and make it themselves...

FUNNY, I was looking at my official guide last night and noticed the F&G fest and started thinking about this thread... so i did a search for it.. I passed the first few topics on the search and buzzed through the next 5 pages and was backed up to a year ago and couldn't find it (btw, my search word was "jerk" -- lots of jerks referenced on this site), so i was about to give up.. then i noticed the 2nd one one on the list for my search was this topic... I was shocked that somebody else was thinking of the same thing the past few days... I just love pulling it up for a good laugh. AND, down with the jerk. I hope he's back! All you natives keep us posted.

PS - GREATEST---TOPIC---EVER!

not to say somebody wouldn't buy it and make a carbon anyways??? There is a generic brand for everything. Almost every "Idea" is a borrowed idea. If it was "top secret", don't display it.

My favorite thing about this thread is the sense of community. By post 20 there was a pic of the dude... post 22 there was a confirmation of identity, and by post 30, pix of the actual pots (laughing my off right now -- almost fell out of the chair) 2 weeks from today -- SCORE!

Ad lib as you're passing:
" Oh, look! These are like those metal plant holders that are in the Disney catalog, but they don't have the Mickey Ears. I guess they're just cheap rip-offs"

"These are just like the ones you ordered from the _____(fill in the blank) catalogue, only not as cute; or as sturdy. And these are three times the price."

Yes and there are ways to protect yourself from having your work duplicated such as a planter stand, it's called a Patent!
