Hurricane Milton coming to FL

For those wanting to watch more along the coast. I know I read some of them are 15-16 feet in the air to see if they can stay out of the surge.

Small peanuts compared to people needing to be safe, but some interesting wait times this morning at 10am:
30 mins: Tron, TSMM, MFSR, Meet Anna and Elsa
20 mins: SDD, Remy, Na'vi
15 mins: Meet Tiana/visiting princess, Meet M&M in AK, Meet Cindy/princess
Everything else is 10 or less
This is my standard storm psa: if you’re in a park today and NOT wearing a nametag…you’re certifiably nuts.

That is all.

Eh, I don't know if I agree with that. Like, I evacuated to the Boardwalk and I have season passes, I'm absolutely going on GotG and getting some drinks in. If you are wasting a day ticket, or are driving there from 45 minutes+ away without any prep done, then I would agree.

I mean honestly, if you are already at Disney, are unable to leave (lack of rental car, flights cancelled), why not pop into the parks until 1-2 pm.

I agree they should have canceled their trips/ evacuated like 2 days ago, but at this point they might have no where they can go.

Greetings from Sarasota. We have our hurricane shutters up and now nothing to do but wait. They have the eye going directly over my house. Hopefully it moves. Stay safe everyone.
My dad lives on Lido Key in an 8 story condo building. About 12 people in that building decided to stay behind. My dad was going to be one of them because he couldn’t get a flight out to go up north. He was going to stay as well until I told him that’s a bad idea. He drove to Orlando and I got him a room at Sheraton Vistana. Then got him a park pass reservation for MK yesterday. It’s not the best scenario to be in Orlando where there will be hurricane force winds, but at least he is off the island and away from the possible 15 foot storm surge. I hope those that didn’t evacuate make it through the storm alive. We’ve been going to Sarasota and WDW all my life so I am hoping the storm weakens. It’s just such a bad feeling right now. Also unbelievable the gulf coast has had two major storms in only two weeks.

I'm so tired of people saying this, as if it's just as easy as snap your fingers and your travel plans get changed. What if you got off a cruise on Monday? How simple would it have been to change your flight with MCO closing 36 hours later and tens of thousands of other people doing the same thing you want to do but with a headstart because they had access to apps/phone lines? Been there, done that. It's not as simple as you think it is.

Stay at the room

It’s not that it’s dangerous to be in the park…it causes unnecessary stress on those that have to stand there and think about what happens later tonight.

…I know…I’m a dreamer 😐

One of the models yesterday showed another storm forming in the gulf, but it is 12 days out. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

It's currently showing about 1,000 millibars which is better than what you're showing. I looked it up and 1,000mb is approx 50mph. Regardless, FL doesn't need any more tropical systems after Helene and Milton.

That picture- of all the guests in rain ponchos at the HS gate- I know parks open for a few hours - but if I was a cast member, how could you NOT get aggravated at people coming in today ?

I read Disney keeps room inventory for cast member’s safety in storms like these, but what about their family?

I know working is probably voluntary, just hope it is.

Thanks all, random thoughts….
