Looking at current radar loop, it appears that the center of circulation is heading straight towards the Orlando area... Hopefully because it is staying over land it will loose its strength quick!!

Sorry if this was discussed but looks like this storm took a straight path up through Naples and is heading right for Orlando, rather that curving up the coast and hitting Tampa, as predicted. Can anyone in Fl confirm?

Where are you getting that update from? The 8 PM update from the National Hurricane Center is showing a direct hit for Tampa Bay. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at1.shtml?cone

It is. After it made landfall, it began moving more north than west. It was obvious this afternoon watching the radar it wasn't going to move along the coast.

I'm seeing the same models.. But it appears, at least for the time being, it is well east of the official forecast track..
