Hurricane Irma

I never thought there would come a time where the entrance to MK would look anything but exciting and welcoming, but...there it is. Kinda creepy in a post-apocalyptic way. As @andysol mentioned earlier, a horde of zombies pouring out from under the train station would not have looked out of place.

That would be more along the line of the "Life After" Disney photo's that are swimming around...

@andysol,

Thanks for risking arrest to take the photos and video.

I, however, would have had a hard time resisting the urge to dash into the park and snap a selfie of me standing in front of the Castle in a completely empty MK.

"But, Officer, my name is Bob Iger. I'm just checking out our property. I have an apartment in that tall building over there with the pointy blue roofs. "

I'm glad everyone is safe, and also I'm happy Disney parks didn't suffer much damage. You can't mess with the happiest place on earth!
Still, I'm concerned about people who got affected by the hurricane.

Tampa Airport will be officially open tomorrow. Mayor Jacobs still unsure whether Orange County's curfew is going to end at 6pm... Could be extended, too early to tell. 'A lot worse than expected'... in her own words.

I've seen pictures of that ugly building. Office building?

BTW, WFSU just announced the water is gone from Alligator Point.

I guess you've never arrived at WDW driving in from the East. It's north of Orlando near Altamonte Springs. It's unfinished. Apparently to be a broadcast center for a televaneglist or some such.

I wasn't a **** about it. I said it was fine to feel sad- heck, I would- but just to keep things in perspective right now- considering the storm was still ongoing and there's lots of locals on this board. It wasn't an unwarranted feeling, it just wasn't the right time and place. Let people wake up and see if they have power or windows first, right? Is that unreasonable?

I was also supposed to be out of here but flights got pushed back and I'm delayed 3 nights here. My biggest worry is my kid missing school and stuck here. But I also realize that is trivial in the scope of what is going on.
So to summarize, yes, be sad. But is it so hard to post about it tomorrow?
Can we drop it please, it's all water under the bridge now anyways. @PhilliesPhan93 is a good guy and it's all fine and well now.
Thank you I'm sorry again but I'd really like if we could all drop it now please

Nope. I do 75 to Turnpike to 429 and come in on Western Way.

Why do they always build ugly glass monuments to themselves?

Don't know. Occasionally I've arrived from the opposite direction. Like after visiting folks in Jax. Or attending college homecoming northeast of there.
