Agreed, that's exactly why I'd like to hear both sides.Part of it may have to do with the layout of the resort itself. Most mods and values don't have a convention center and the Rooms don't connect directly to the lobby. It's probably much easier to get guests to move into a centralized location from their rooms when the layout of the resort allows them to.
Glad to hear that he is well, property can be replaced but lives can't.My brother-in-law just received word that his home on Marco Island has been destroyed. Other major damage on the island. He is now in Michigan but has contacts in Florida.
i dont know much about hurricanes. it was reorted earlier irma is now a cat 2 but naples is still getting 142mph winds??? someone explain, please.Wow, Naples is getting pounded. Wind gust of up to 142 mph reported at Naples Airport.
The categories are based on maximum sustained winds, but gusts can be higher.i dont know much about hurricanes. it was reorted earlier irma is now a cat 2 but naples is still getting 142mph winds??? someone explain, please.

That's horrifying.Well the sustains winds are at category 2 but gust have been stronger than normal for a cat 2.
The danger is not the winds though, reports from carribean to all coasts of Florida show the oceans and lakes being drained. That means the water is being pulled I to the deep ocean. That means that all that water will surge back and flood with force.
Many islands in carribean that didn't get hit have seen huge floods of water just appearing in minutes.
Naples water level rose 5 feet in less than an hour already and downtown Miami is flooded in areas
My sister was watching CNN and the reporter in Naples had to yell at a guy in the street walking his dog while they were in the eye. From the interaction you could tell that they had warned him to get inside before but he didn't care.I can understand reporters out in the areas affected because that's their job. But bystanders walking around checking the damage in a flooded Downtown Miami?
See my other post.Agreed, that's exactly why I'd like to hear both sides.
The category is based on sustained winds within the eye. So when it hit naples it lost a little power and it's sustained winds were 110 mph but gusts went as high as 142.Funny, that's what one of the reporters said. But I'm not a meteorologist and can't explain.
Seminole county here. The rain just won't quit. Its been almost constant downpours since noon. Not good given we have a brook in our backyard that is now overflowing. Winds have generally been very kind, but the gusts are picking up.Weather has quickly gone downhill. Heavy rain and wind moving into the area and tornado warnings are beginning to move more inland. Just had another issued for Seminole County, which is just up the road from me.
