Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Where did I say it was? I made reference to it coming up for minor ones as well as hurricanes. It's bonkers that people jump to massive conclusions about how the parks arent prepared and will presumably be wiped out in their eyes.

Has anyone here actually said the parks are going to be wiped out or are you jumping to conclusions as well? We are more worried about people getting killed rather than property damage at this point.

No one has said the parks are going to be wiped out, but there will be a lot of damage.

Again, the key word in my post: presumably

Before this unnecessery tangent started I did quite clearly reference the ongoing discussion where people are suggesting MK will sustain heavy damage from flooding.

There is no question this will be catastrophic for the coast. Disney will have tree and sign damage for sure. I still believe depending on how fast the storm makes it thru, a partial late Friday to Saturday opening is realistic. Longer for Fort Wilderness, Copper Creek Cabins, Treehouses, etc. But the parks will open. Of course this is dependent on the surrounding area infrastructure being able to support it.

High confidence this will finally make landfall this hour.

Wild how the pressure and wind speeds haven't changed for hours. Guessing now that the eye is closer to land there's only little room left to intensify (a landfall at low-level Cat 5 isn't out of the question).

My wife's getting her hard drive full of demand templates and sample forms ready for the incoming flood* of claims and lawsuits that will hit her desk.

*no pun intended. Seriously.
Questions is after paying out millions of dollars of claims which insurance companies will pull out of FL and or go under?

late to the thread, but to all those staying on or off property, & to all floridians as well, stay safe. i have a former coworker who lives in sarasota. her family traveled up to tallahassee last night. my cousin is outside tampa & he’s riding it out. my brother in law’s son from his 1st marriage is in the coast guard & they were sailing off the miami coast last night & it was getting choppy. good luck to all 👍

He lives ten minutes away and took up a hotel room (which could be used for travelers, displaces guests, or CMs) for the WDW livestreaming opportunity. Pathetic.
To be fair, I took up a hotel room in Charley.

And after seeing my balcony collapse to the floor when I returned, I was ok with it.

Also, I've met him before, and he's high up on my list of humans I can't stand.
