The weather page has been updated - no Check in on Thursday.

"Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with a validity window impacted by closure due to Hurricane Ian will be automatically extended to allow use of the remaining unused ticket days through September 30, 2023. In order to enter a park, both a park reservation and valid ticket for the same park on the same date is required.

For the safety of our Guests and Cast Members, all Guests including our Disney Vacation Club Members must check in to our resorts on Sept. 28, by 3 p.m. Guests may reschedule their trip or cancel their stay with us; any customary cancellation fees will be waived. Check in will not be accepted on Thurs Sept 29."

In that case I'd consider cancelling. Local stations are predicting up to 20" of rain in the Orlando area. Major flooding will result.

Thank you, that's sort of what I was thinking was going to be the case. I wouldn't even attempt it myself, but they seemed determined.... Glad they can't honestly.

Disney outlines resort check-in times and offerings at its Walt Disney World hotels during Hurricane Ian

Guests must check in to resorts on Sept. 28, by 3 p.m. Please feel free to reschedule your trip or cancel; any customary cancellation fees will be waived.

Guests that are checked in by 3 p.m. Wednesday will be asked to shelter in place at their resort for the duration of the storm, this includes any resort-to-resort transfers.

Guests are strongly encouraged to enjoy food and beverage offerings at the parks and Disney Springs before returning to their Resort hotels.

Wouldn't the parks be closed? :hilarious:

Once the storm clears the area, there's going to be major cleanup commencing. Including utility restoration. Roads need to be reserved for utility crews, debris removal crews, etc. And given the projected rainfall, many roads may be barricaded due to flooding. The area behind MK is an area that routinely floods.

They did do online check-in, but just wondering if they'll even be allowed in..? I haven't ever dealt with beginning a trip right around a hurricane, so I am not sure. They just dont want to get there and then be turned away with nowhere to go.
How are they planning to get there?

Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with a usage window impacted by Hurricane Ian related park closure will automatically be extended to use the remaining entitlements through any date through September 30, 2023.”

This is a great example of all the complexities involved that need to be vetted before they make these releases. This is why it takes so long. If they didn’t have this in, they’d be flooded with phone calls asking ”what about”.
There is nothing complex about any of this. Everything from details about park closures to dining options is cut and paste from every other time they’ve closed due to weather. The only difference is the actual dates.
