Just finished a Publix run - primarily to get snack treats to bring home, but also to get additional bits and pieces in case we're stuck in the room for a spell. Fortunately, our two travelling parties have adjoining rooms so if we are stuck, we can still hang out. Double bonus is that we're in a second floor room.

I'm still hoping we can make tomorrow evening's ADR, but I'm less optimistic about Friday's. I'm also hoping our flight home next Tuesday (October 4) isn't affected by knock on effects or anything.

The latest tropical tidbits really highlighted how slight changes are going to make a break it for areas. He basically said it’s all about where the storm passes Cuba and what direction it’s going when it does so. If it crosses more east and is traveling due North it’s going to make landfall on the peninsula, if it crosses more west (or just misses it) and is traveling NW it’s likely to stall offshore of Tampa and then turn NW and hit the panhandle. Tomorrow morning is when it’s expected to cross Cuba.

People are praying for or bribing the Buddhist monk for "good fortune" from the hurricane at the House of Good Fortune in China.

Note to Morons Guests: While I'm sure you think this Hurricane affecting you has the potential to be an exciting good time, it won't be. Your money would be better spent with the Red Cross or similar agency which will likely be spending the next several weeks helping real people.

Disney typically gives donated money (or that thrown in wishing wells / ponds) to local charities.

Correct, it eventually makes it to some organization.

People on vacation often put the blinders on that shield them from reality.

The truth is that being at WDW during a hurricane is not exciting or fun.

If you're able to make arrangements to leave early, do so. If you can't, take it seriously and make sure you are able to take care of yourself.

I am allowed to enjoy myself first but I am also taking it seriously. I topped off the tank this morning before it becomes an issue when I check out. Not looking forward to Wed. or Thur. but I decided I am better off where I am riding it out than going somewhere else. I'll probably load up on extra food for my room tonight.

If you don't get out you're on your own, emergency first responders will not respond to your location. Your best bet is to write your Social Security number on you arm with a sharpie so they can identify the corpse if they find it.
Full legal name and SS# on both torso and limb(s) in case they get separated. Florida's critters will be out, about and looking for an easy meal once the storm passes
